SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team dropped an 11-3 decision to Le Moyne on Friday afternoon.
TEAM RECORDS: SCSU (17-8-1, NE10 5-1) | Le Moyne (21-8, NE10 9-1)
Nick Lamberti (East Haven, Conn.) went 4-for-5 with one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored , while
Griffin Garabedian (Hamden, Conn.) went 2-for-4 and scored one run in the Owls loss to the Dolphins.
After the first inning went scoreless for both teams, Le Moyne got on the board in the second off a solo home run over the left field fence, 1-0.
The Owls countered back in the top of the third inning to tie the game. After Garabedian singled to center field,
Jim Palmer (Milford, Conn.) got out off of a sacrifice bunt to the pitcher, which advanced Garabedian to second. Lamberti stepped to the plate and knocked Garabedian in after he singled up the middle, 1-1.
The game remained tied until the fourth inning when the Dolphins scored five runs off of a two out rally, 6-1. The Owls were held to one run in the fifth as Le Moyne had a 1-2-3 inning. The Dolphins scored three more runs in the fifth, 9-1.
The sixth inning saw SCSU score one run after
Greg Zullo (Branford, Conn.) grounded out to the second basemen allowing Lamberti to score, 9-2. SCSU scored another run in the seventh after they scored off of a walk.
Le Moyne would score their final two runs of the game in the eighth inning after they hit a two-run homerun, 11-3.

The Owls return to the diamond tomorrow, April 15 as they take on Le Moyne for a doubleheader in Syracuse, N.Y. beginning at noon.
