Box Score BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team dropped at decision to LIU Post today, 9-4.

Jim Palmer (Milford, Conn.) went 2-for-5 with one RBI and one stolen base, while
Tyler Criscuolo (Branford, Conn.) went 1-for-4 with one RBI and one run.
Griffin Garabedian (Hamden, Conn.) also added one hit and one run in the Owls loss.
The Pioneers jumped on the board in the third inning scoring two runs off of two hits. They added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to increase their lead to five. The fifth inning saw LIU tally two more runs off of two hits.
SCSU got on the board in the top of the sixth inning after
Kyle Hart (North Branford, Conn.) singled through the left side scoring Criscuolo. The Owls would score one more run in the inning, 7-2 LIU.
The Pioneers would counter in the bottom of the sixth after they scored on an RBI single to left field, 8-2. LIU.
Post scored one more run in the eighth capping off the scoring at nine. The Owls looked to rally in the top of the ninth. After a pair of walks, Palmer hit an RBI single to center, 9-3 LIU. With the bases loaded, Criscuolo earned a base on balls, which scored Garabedian, but the Pioneers held on and took a 9-4 victory over the Owls.

The Owls return to the diamond on Sunday, April 23 for a double header against the Pioneers. The first game is set to begin at 12 p.m.
