HEADING INTO THE STRETCH RUN
The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team prepares for five home games, all conference contests, this week. The Owls host Saint Rose on Tuesday and Adelphi on Wednesday in single games. The action continues on Saturday with a home doubleheader against AIC and concludes with a single game versus AIC on Sunday.
ALL-TIME VS. SAINT ROSE
The Golden Knights lead the Owls in the all-time series 23-15. The Owls swept Saint Rose earlier in the season, winning a doubleheader 10-0 and 4-2, on April 2.
ALL-TIME VS. ADELPHI
The Panthers lead the Owls in the all-time series, 17-15. The Owls have won the two meetings thus far in the 2017 campaign, 6-3 and 5-4.
ALL-TIME VS. AIC
The Yellow Jackets lead the Owls in the all-time series 46-31. The Owls were victorious in this season's meeting down in Florida, 7-3.
LAST TIME OUT
The Owls split a doubleheader against LIU-Post on Sunday. The Pioneers took game one, 9-7, before the Owls came back for a 2-0 win in the nightcap.

Cole Bryant proved to be the deciding factor in game two as he held off the Pioneers offense. He pitched a complete seven-inning game and struck out eight to win his seventh game of the year.

SCSU was among the programs that received votes in last week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll.
OWLS RANKED NO. 5 IN THE REGION...
The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team is ranked fifth in this week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association East Region poll.
AND NO. 2 IN NEW ENGLAND
The Owls are No. 2 in the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association poll this week, behind only Southern New Hampshire and tied with Franklin Pierce.
BRYANT NAMED TO WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Cole Bryant was named to the NE10 weekly honor roll on Monday following his stellar performance against LIU-Post last weekend.
MAN ON FIRE
Nick Lamberti has been on a roll since the Owls' return from Florida on spring break. In the 16 games back up north, he's batting .467 (28-for-60).
OWLS TOPPING THE CHARTS
Thanks to his torrid stretch over the last 16 games,
Nick Lamberti (.408) currently leads the NE10 in batting average.
Greg Zullo (.375) is third in the league in that category.

Greg Zullo currently sits third in the NE10 with a .375 batting average, and leads the conference with 39 RBI.
BRYANT RANKS AMONG NE10 LEADERS

Cole Bryant is tied for first in the NE10 in wins with seven and is No. 7 in the league with a 1.97 ERA.

PAIR NAMED TO WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
For the third straight week,
Nick Lamberti was named to the NE10 weekly honor roll on April 17. In addition, senior co-captain
Cole Bryant was also been named to the weekly honor roll for his performance against Le Moyne.
• Lamberti continued his hot streak this week going 7-for-14 with two doubles, one RBI and two stolen bases. He now leads the conference in batting average with a stellar .418 mark.
• Bryant pitched his third complete game this year and earned his sixth win of the season in a 5-1 victory over Le Moyne. He allowed just five hits and one run in the win.
LAMBERTI NAMED TO WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Nick Lamberti was named to the NE10 weekly honor roll on April 10. He batted .550 (11-for-20) during the Owls' five games. He posted multiple-hit efforts in four games and added seven runs scored, four stolen bases and two RBI. Lamberti's best game of the week was the final one, against Franklin Pierce, in which he registered four hits and four runs scored.
CARNEY NAMED NE10 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Freshman
Nate Carney was tabbed as the NE10 Rookie of the Week on April 3 after tossing a complete-game shutout against Saint Rose. He struck out seven in the win. In addition,
Nick Lamberti was named to the league's weekly honor roll for his efforts in a 3-0 week.
ZULLO NAMED NE10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Greg Zullo was named the NE10 Player of the Week on March 20 for his play during the Owls' trip to Florida. He continued his torrid hitting by posting a team-high 10 RBI to boost his league leading total to 25 during a 5-1 week for the Owls. He had four multiple-hit performances and finished the week going 9-for-25 (.360) in Florida.
BRYANT ON A ROLL
Cole Bryant registered his second straight complete game shutout, going all nine innings in a 17-0 win over Molloy. He allowed just four hits and fanned five. Dating back to last year, over six appearances, he went 46 innings without allowing an earned run.
BRYANT NAMED NCBWA PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Cole Bryant was named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's East Region Pitcher of the Week for his play during the Owls' games in South Carolina.
• Bryant registered his second straight complete game shutout, going all nine innings in a 17-0 win over Molloy in Myrtle Beach. He allowed just four hits and fanned five.
ZULLO AND BRYANT EARN NE10 HONORS

• Bryant repeated as the league's Pitcher of the Week for his scoreless effort in a 17-0 win over Molloy.
• Zullo was named to the weekly honor roll due to his performance across all four games in S.C. where he went .529 (9-for-17), with five runs and five RBI.
OWLS SPLIT MYRTLE BEACH TRIP
The Southern Connecticut State baseball team played four games in three days (Feb. 24-26) in South Carolina, where it was victorious over Molloy and Mercy, but fell to Wilmington and LIU Post.

LOOKING BACK AT LAST SEASON
The baseball team finished the 2016 season with an overall record of 16-25-1. The Owls were selected to finish fourth in the Southwest Division preseason poll. Southern Connecticut came up just short of the NE10 Championship, finishing in fifth place.

THREE OWLS EARN NE10 YEAR-END HONORS
Jake Paul,
Nick Lamberti and
Brandon Rentas were all honored by the NE10 at the conclusion of last year. Paul earned Second-Team All-Conference honors, while both Rentas and Lamberti earned a spot on the NE-10 All-Rookie Team.
EXCELLING IN THE CLASSROOM
Southern Connecticut had 11 student-athletes selected to the Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for their work in the classroom during the fall, 2016 semester.
