Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team dropped a 5-3 decision against Dominican College in the NCAA DII East Regional Baseball Championships this afternoon to conclude the 2017 season.

Griffin Garabedian (Hamden, Conn.) continued his solid tournament performance as he went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI including a two-run homerun.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dominican struck first as they scored one run in the second inning off of a sacrifice fly to right field.
Garabedian doubled to right center in the third inning to start the offense for the Owls. Then, Jimmy Palmer (Milford, Conn.) singled up the middle to score Garabedian and tie the game at 1.
The game was notched at one apiece until the seventh inning when the Chargers scored one run, 2-1. They added another run in the eighth and two more in the ninth inning giving them a secure lead of 5-1.
With the season looming, Garabedian stayed hot and hit a two out two-run homerun to right field and put the Owls within two, 5-3. After a valiant effort by the Owls, they were not able to make a comeback and fell to Dominican 5-3 to conclude their season.
SCSU had a solid season, where they sported a 27-13-1 overall record and a 14-4 conference record that helped them claim the NE10 Southwest Division Title.
