NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior quarterback Raymond Catapano (Franklin Square, N.Y.) accounted for 359 total yards and two touchdowns, but the Southern Connecticut State University football team was defeated by the University of New Haven, 31-17, in a Northeast-10 Conference game on Friday night.

THE KEY STATS:
- Catapano finished 20-of-34 for 300 yards through the air and had 15 rushes for 51 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
- Senior wide receiver Isaiah Dockett (Bloomfield, N.J.) posted new career-highs with five catches and 102 receiving yards.
- Redshirt junior defensive end John Strezo (Arlington, Mass.) notched a career-high 12 tackles.

THE BREAKDOWN
- UNH scored a touchdown on its opening drive and the Owls got on the board midway through the second quarter on a 21-yard field goal from Jose Conde (West Haven, Conn.). The Chargers would add a field goal later on in the frame for a seven-point advantage.
- The Owls trailed 10-3 at halftime, but an eight-play, 83-yard drive out of the halftime break evened the score for the home team. That drive culminated when Catapano ran for a 15-yard touchdown. Conde added the PAT to even the score.



- However, later in the third quarter, the Chargers scored twice in a span of 4:15 to turn a tie game into a two-touchdown lead.
- Catapano got the Owls back within one score on a two-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter. However, UNH would tack on another touchdown to create the final margin of victory.
