Raymond Catapano (Franklin Square, N.Y.) accounted for 359 total yards and two touchdowns, but the Southern Connecticut State University football team was defeated by the University of New Haven, 31-17, in a Northeast-10 Conference game on Friday night.

- Catapano finished 20-of-34 for 300 yards through the air and had 15 rushes for 51 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

Isaiah Dockett (Bloomfield, N.J.) posted new career-highs with five catches and 102 receiving yards.
- Redshirt junior defensive end
John Strezo (Arlington, Mass.) notched a career-high 12 tackles.
THE BREAKDOWN
- UNH scored a touchdown on its opening drive and the Owls got on the board midway through the second quarter on a 21-yard field goal from
Jose Conde (West Haven, Conn.). The Chargers would add a field goal later on in the frame for a seven-point advantage.
- The Owls trailed 10-3 at halftime, but an eight-play, 83-yard drive out of the halftime break evened the score for the home team. That drive culminated when Catapano ran for a 15-yard touchdown. Conde added the PAT to even the score.
- However, later in the third quarter, the Chargers scored twice in a span of 4:15 to turn a tie game into a two-touchdown lead.
- Catapano got the Owls back within one score on a two-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter. However, UNH would tack on another touchdown to create the final margin of victory.
