Southern Connecticut State University football returns home to the friendly confines on Jess Dow Field for a Homecoming match-up against American International College on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 3 p.m.

ALL-TIME AGAINST AIC
• Southern Connecticut and AIC have met 62 times, with the Owls winning 33 of them and three ending in ties.
• The Owls and Yellow Jackets have split the last four meetings.
THE LAST TIME THEY PLAYED
AIC 14, SCSU 6 (Sept. 22, 2017)
• The Owls outgained AIC – 283-201 – in the contest. However, SCSU had three turnovers (two fumbles, one interception) compared to one for AIC.
• Trailing 14-6 late in the third quarter, the Owls fumbled going into the AIC end zone for the potential tying score.
• Quarterback
Raymond Catapano (Franklin Square, N.Y.) completed 14-of-28 passes for 115 yards, also also rushed eight times for a team-high 50 yards.

Paris Crawford (Bayonne, N.J.) led the receivers with five catches for 49 yards.
• There were a total of 23 penalties called in the game – 13 against the Owls and 10 against AIC – including one ejection for targeting.

Michael Cerisano (Newburgh, N.Y.) registered 11 tackles, while
Jhaaron Wallace (Hartford, Conn.) had 10 tackles and a sack.

THE OWLS' LAST TIME OUT
• The Southern Connecticut State football team lost a nail-biter to Assumption, 26-20 in overtime, as the Owls held the nation's second-highest scoring offense to its fewest points of the season.
• Matthew Sanzaro (Wethersfield, Conn.) rushed for one touchdown, and threw another while
Eli Parks (Bristol, Conn.) pounded out 118 yards on the ground.

Julian Chung (Franklin Square, N.Y.) had 76 receiving yards and another 30 rushing for 106 all-purpose yards.
• Defensively, Kwadir Delgado-McIntrye (Hamden, Conn.) had two interceptions while
David Spears, Jr. (Springfield, Mass.) had and interception and also recorded a safety.

40-40 Club
• Southern Connecticut reached 40 points in a pair of wins before Saturday's loss at Assumption - a 42-21 win against Stonehill and a 43-7 win against Saint Anselm.
• The last time SCSU scored 40+ points in consecutive games came in the 2013 season when the Owls rattled off three-straight 40+ games against Merrimack, Saint Anselm and Pace.
AMONG THE BEST
• SCSU currently boasts the top rushing offense in the NE10, which also ranks 24th among all NCAA Division II programs, at 223.3 yards per game.
• The Owls' running game has accumulated 1,340 yards on the ground, while averaging 4.86 yards-per-carry, and has scored 13 touchdowns.
• The Owls' 32.0 points per game ranks 53rd in the NCAA.
• SCSU's offense line has also allowed just five sacks in five games for a 0.83 per-game average, good for the 13th fewest in NCAA Division II football.
• Only four teams in all of D2 football hold a longer time of possession with the Owls' totalling 205.25 for a 34:14 per game average.

• Senior running back
Eli Parks (Bristol, Conn.) has been on a tear this season totalling 674 yards on 145 carries for a 112.7 yards per game average.
• Parks sits second in the conference in rushing yards after Pace's Jhalen Bien-Aime posted a 225-yard rushing day on Oct. 14.
• On Saturday, Oct. 14, Parks rumbled for 150 yards on 28 carries including a 38-yard run for his second-longest rush of the year.
• With Saturday's performance, Parks now has four games of 125+ yards to his credit this season, including 127 against Gannon; 135 against Bentley and 140 against Stonehill.
• Parks' 112.3 yards per game rank 16th among all NCAA Division II backs while his 674 yards from scrimmage rank 26th.
• His six rushing touchdowns rank 44th nationally while his 118.33 all-purpose yards-per-game rank 55th.
JHAARON "THE WALL"ACE
• Senior inside linebacker
Jhaaron Wallace (Hartford, Conn.) leads the Owls and sits second in the NE10 in total tackles (56) while also recording a sack, one forced fumble and recovery and four pass breakups.
• Wallace's top game of the season came in the Owls' 42-21 win against Stonehill as he registered a season-high 15 tackles while also recovering a fumble and returning it for a touchdown.
WAIT A SECOND(ARY)
• Kwadir Delgado-McIntyre picked off a pair of passes against Assumption and
David Spears, Jr. recorded an INT and a safety.
• Delgado-McIntyre is second in the NE10 in interceptions (3) and ranks 30th among all NCAA Division II players.
BETWEEN THE LINES
• Kwadir Delgado-McIntyre's (Hamden, Conn.) had two interceptions against Assumption. He is the first player to pick off two passes in a game since Justin Potts recorded three against American International on Sept. 23, 2016.

David Spears, Jr. (Springfield, Mass.) had an interception and also a safety for SCSU's first safety since Sept. 29.

Matt Sanzaro (Wethersfield, Conn.) returned from injury to post a 95-yard passing day, with one touchdown, and also rushed seven times for 44 yards and a touchdown.

Julian Chung (Franklin Square, N.Y.) led all receivers in the game with five catches for 76 yards, including a 27-yard reception. Chung also had four carries for 30 yards to give him 106 all-purpose yards for the afternoon.

John Wells (East Hartford, Conn.), making his first career appearance at SCSU, caught a one-yard touchdown from Sanzaro for his first career reception and touchdown.
• Jaychar Howell (Yonkers, N.Y.) led SCSU with nine tackles (6 solo, 3 assisted) while
Jhaaron Wallace (Hartford, Conn.) totaled eight tackles (5-3) including one for a loss.
• Assumption entered the game with the nation's second-highest scoring offense at 49.2 points per game, but the Owls' defense held the Greyhounds to their lowest point total of the season.
It marked just the second time this year that Assumption was held to a single touchdown in the first half.
