Jim Palmer (Milford, Conn.) led the way with four hits as the Southern Connecticut State University baseball team claimed an 11-7 victory over Caldwell University.

Mike DeMartino (New Haven, Conn.) finished 2-for-3 with a homerun, recorded three RBI and scored one run.
- Palmer had a team high four hits, tallied two RBI, scored one run and had a stolen base in the win.

Nolan Cloutier (Wallingford, Conn.) went 2-for-3, with two RBI and scored two runs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Caldwell scored first with one in the top of the second. The Owls responded with three runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead. DeMartino homered with a runner on to score the Owls first two runs. Southern scored one more run that inning to extend the lead as Cloutier hit an RBI single to bring in
Mike Giordano (Norwalk, Conn.).
- SCSU added three more runs in the third to take a 6-1 over the Cougars. DeMartino hit a sacrifice fly to score
Ethan Joyce (Exeter, N.H.) and increase the Owls lead to three. With the bases loaded,
Jim Palmer hit a two-run single that scored Cloutier and Giordano and give the Owls a 6-1 lead. The Owls then made it 7-1 an inning later when
Tyler Criscuolo (Branford, Conn.) came in on the back end of an attempted double steal.
- In the fifth, the Cougars offense scored six runs to tie the game at 7-7. The game remained tied until the bottom of the seventh when the Owls scored one run and took the lead off a wild pitch to score Palmer.
- The Owls scored three in the eighth inning to put the game out of reach for the Cougars. Cloutier hit a RBI single to bring in pinch runner Anthony Zambito (Ridgewood, N.J.). Next,
Griffin Garabedian (Hamden, Conn.) hit a single to advance Cloutier to third and he scored on an error. Finally, Palmer hit an RBI single to bring in Garabedian and score the final run of the game.

Austin Darrow (Brooklawn, N.J.) notched his first win of the season as he pitched three innings with one strikeout and only allowed two runs.
Quantique White (New London, Conn.) earned the save with two innings of scoreless relief.

The Owls will face Lynn University tomorrow, March 13, with the game set to start at 2:30 p.m.
