SANTALUCES, Fla. – Junior
Tyler Criscuolo (Branford, Conn.) tallied two hits in each end of the doubleheader as the Southern Connecticut State University baseball team split two games on Saturday to close its Florida trip. The Owls knocked off American International in the opener, 5-3 before dropping a 5-0 decision to New York Tech in the nightcap.

KEY PERFORMERS:
- Criscuolo was 4-for-9 with a run and a RBI in the contests.
- Three hurlers combined for the win in game one, without allowing an earned run in the process.
Griffin Bremer (Higganum, Conn.) went the first five innings and gave way to
Jake Santamaria (Oceanside, N.Y.), who hurled the sixth, seventh and eighth innings.
Quantique White (New London, Conn.) finished it with a scoreless ninth to earn the save.

Jim Palmer (Milford, Conn.) was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and a RBI in the opener.
HOW IT HAPPENED…VS. AIC
- The Owls struck for three runs in the first. Criscuolo and
Ethan Joyce (Exeter, N.H.) each had RBI singles, while
Connor Redahan (Greenwich, Conn.) plated the final run via a run-scoring error.
- AIC answered with one in the first and two in the second to tie the score.
- The Owls pushed back ahead in the fourth when Palmer's RBI double plated
Griffin Garabedian (Hamden, Conn.).
- SCSU added an insurance run in the ninth when Redahan drove in Palmer with a sacrifice fly.
HOW IT HAPPENED…VS. NYIT
- The Bears scored twice in the third for an early lead before scraping across single runs in the fifth, sixth and ninth.
