OWLS BEGIN HOMESTAND
The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team finished 7-4 on its trip to the Sunshine State during spring break. This week, the Owls will play the first five home games in a six-game homestand, starting on Wednesday against Bloomfield College, with the game set to start at 3 p.m. Then, the Owls play back to back doubleheaders against Merrimack College on Saturday with game one set to begin at 12 p.m. On Sunday, the Owls play Assumption College, with game one set to start at 12 p.m.

ALL-TIME VS. BLOOMFIELD
The Owls lead the all-time series between these two teams, 5-1. These teams last met in 2011, where the Owls claimed a 9-0 win. Last Meeting: SCSU 9, Blooomfield 0 (3/12/2011)

ALL-TIME VS. MERRIMACK
The Owls lead the all-time series against the Warriors, 31-18. These teams met twice last season with the Owls taking both games. Last Meeting: SCSU 8, Merrimack 3 (3/18/2017)

ALL-TIME VS. ASSUMPTION
The Owls lead the all-time series against the Greyhounds, 33-21. The last meeting between these two teams came last season and the Owls' eighth inning rally gave them a 10-3 win. Last Meeting: SCSU 10, Assumption 3 (3/10/2017)

LAST TIME OUT
The Owls split a doubleheader on Saturday, winning game one 5-3 against AIC and losing to NYIT later that day.
- Tyler Criscuolo was 4-for-9 with a run and a RBI in the contests.
- Three hurlers combined for the win in game one, without allowing an earned run in the process. Griffin Bremer (Higganum, Conn.) went the first five innings and gave way to Jake Santamaria (Oceanside, N.Y.), who hurled the sixth, seventh and eighth innings. Quantique White (New London, Conn.) finished it with a scoreless ninth to earn the save.
- Jim Palmer (Milford, Conn.) was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and a RBI in the opener.

CRISCUOLO LEADS THE WAY
Through 18 games, junior Tyler Criscuolo leads the Owls with a batting average of .435 (30-for-69), 24 RBI and 15 runs scored so far this season.

IN THE REGIONAL RANKINGS
The Owls check in at No. 6 in this week's NCBWA regional rankings, as voted on by the region's SID's.

PAIR EARNS NE10 WEEKLY HONORS
Senior Ethan Joyce and sophomore Connor Redahan were named to the NE10 weekly honor roll on March 12 for their play in the previous week's action for the Owls.

BREMER BUZZIN'
Senior Griffin Bremer pitched a complete game in the 4-0 shutout win over Bridgeport. Bremer struck out six, gave up two hits and issued one walk in the win.

THREE OWLS NAMED TO THE NE10 WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Seniors Griffin Bremer and Ethan Joyce and junior Jim Palmer were named to the NE10 weekly honor roll for their performances in the home opening series sweep against Bridgeport.

TWO OWLS SELECTED TO NE10 WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Junior Tyler Criscuolo and sophomore Nate Carney were selected to the NE10 weekly honor roll on Feb. 26 for their performances during the season-opening weekend for the Owls.

LAMBERTI EARNS NCBWA PRESEASON ALL-REGION HONORS
Coming off a season in which he was named All-Conference, All-ECAC and All-Region by three separate organizations, Nick Lamberti was named to the NCBWA Preseason All-Region Team.

IN THE NE10 PRESEASON RANKINGS
The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team has been selected to finish third in the Southwest Division of the NE10 Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.

RECAPPING LAST YEAR
The Owls finished the 2017 season with 27 wins, won the NE10 Southwest Division title and qualified for the NCAA Tournament. The Owls won the division title for the second time in four years.

THE CAPTAINS
Southern Connecticut State University head baseball coach Tim Shea has announced that Griffin Garabedian and Jim Palmer will serve as team captains for the Owls for the 2018 season.

WELCOME TO THE CLUB
Ten newcomers have joined the Owls' squad for the 2018 season – Vicente Mendoza, Isaiah Likely, Anthony Zambito, Patrick Webler, Henry Santiago, Jonas Webler, Cameron O'Toole, Samuel Nepiarsky (transfer from UConn), Jeffrey Walsh and Cameron Winiarz (transfer from AIC).

EIGHT OWLS EARN NE10 YEAR-END HONORS
Greg Zullo, Kyle Hart, Cole Bryant, Nick Lamberti, Jim Palmer, Mike DeMartino, Nate Carney and Brendan Ebert all earned year-end honors from the NE10 in 2017. Lamberti and Zullo earned First Team All-Conference, while Palmer and Bryant earned Second Team All-Conference. DeMartino and Hart earned Third Team All-Conference and both Carney and Ebert earned a spot on the NE-10 All-Rookie Team.

ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT RELEASES NEW LOGO
In conjunction with the 2017 Homecoming Weekend festivities, the Southern Connecticut State University athletic department announced a redesign of its Owl logo, effective Oct. 21, 2017. SCSU partnered with Phoenix Design Works of Maplewood, New Jersey for the development of the new athletics logos.

THRIVING IN THE CLASSROOM
Southern Connecticut had 16 student-athletes selected to the Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for their work in the classroom during the fall, 2017 semester.

Southern Connecticut is back in action on March 28 for a home game against the University of New Haven.
