GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – The Southern Connecticut State University softball squad dropped two conference matchups against Adelphi this afternoon, 7-0 and 1-0.
RECORDS: So. Connecticut (5-9, 3-3 NE10) | Adelphi (11-11-1, 5-0-1 NE10)
GAME 1
- Adelphi opened the scoring with three runs in the first. Then, the Panthers added one run each in the fourth and fifth and then two in the sixth inning to take a commanding lead.
- Junior
Delany Turner (Leesburg, Va.) added a double and sophomore
Sara Buscetto (Waterford, Conn.) recorded a triple, but the Owls couldn't get the offense jiving and fell 7-0 in game one of the doubleheader.
GAME 2
- It was a quiet game for both teams as neither team got on the scoreboard until Adelphi broke the deadlock in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run that was the eventual game-winner.
UP NEXT
The Owls are back in action on the road on Thursday as they head to Sparkill, N.Y. to face Saint Thomas Aquinas for a doubleheader set to begin at 2:30 p.m.
