FIVE GAME HOMESTAND AHEAD
The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team will play five home games this week. The Owls will host Adelphi on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. before facing Queens College on Wednesday for a 3:30 p.m. matchup. Then, Southern will host Le Moyne for a three-game series, with a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday.
 
ALL-TIME AGAINST ADELPHI
The Owls trail the all-time series against the Adelphi, 25-23-2. These teams met twice earlier this season. The Owls won by a score of 10-8 on March 16 before falling to the Panthers by a 9-8 score on April 5.
 
ALL-TIME AGAINST QUEENS
The Owls lead the all-time series against the Knights, 18-8. The last meeting between these two teams came in 2016, with the Knights winning three of four games that season.

ALL-TIME AGAINST LE MOYNE
The Dolphins lead the all-time series against the Owls, 11-8. The last meeting between these two teams came last year, with the Owls taking both games, 5-1 and 5-3.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team dropped two games to LIU-Post, 4-3 (11 innings) and 7-5, on Saturday.
- Nick Lamberti went 4-for-8, tallied five RBI and scored one run for the Owls.
- Tyler Criscuolo went 2-for-8, scoring two runs and had one RBI.
- Anthony Zambito went 3-for-8, recorded one RBI and scored two runs.
 
IN THE REGIONAL RANKINGS
The Owls were No. 7 in the NCBWA regional rankings for April 9, as voted on by the region's SID's.

LIGHTNING LAMBERTI
During the month of April, junior Nick Lamberti has recorded a .500 batting average (10-for-20), with a .800 slugging percentage and tallied nine RBI.

PAIR OF OWLS RECEIVED NE10 WEEKLY HONORS
Junior Nick Lamberti and sophomore John Spoto were named to the NE10 weekly honor roll on April 9 for their play in the previous week's action for the Owls.

CRISCUOLO LEADS THE WAY
Junior Tyler Criscuolo leads the Owls with a batting average of .365 (38-for-104), 25 RBI and 23 runs scored so far this season.

CRISCUOLO TABBED TO WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Junior Tyler Criscuolo was named to the NE10 weekly honor roll on March 20 for his play during the second half of the Owls' swing through Florida.

PAIR EARNS NE10 WEEKLY HONORS
Senior Ethan Joyce and sophomore Connor Redahan were named to the NE10 weekly honor roll on March 12 for their play in the previous week's action for the Owls.

BREMER BUZZIN'
Senior Griffin Bremer pitched a complete game in the 4-0 shutout win over Bridgeport. Bremer struck out six, gave up two hits and issued one walk in the win.

THREE OWLS NAMED TO THE NE10 WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Seniors Griffin Bremer and Ethan Joyce and junior Jim Palmer were named to the NE10 weekly honor roll for their performances in the home opening series sweep against Bridgeport.

TWO OWLS SELECTED TO NE10 WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Junior Tyler Criscuolo and sophomore Nate Carney were selected to the NE10 weekly honor roll on Feb. 26 for their performances during the season-opening weekend for the Owls.

LAMBERTI EARNS NCBWA PRESEASON ALL-REGION HONORS
Coming off a season in which he was named All-Conference, All-ECAC and All-Region by three separate organizations, Nick Lamberti was named to the NCBWA Preseason All-Region Team.

IN THE NE10 PRESEASON RANKINGS
The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team has been selected to finish third in the Southwest Division of the NE10 Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.

RECAPPING LAST YEAR
The Owls finished the 2017 season with 27 wins, won the NE10 Southwest Division title and qualified for the NCAA Tournament. The Owls won the division title for the second time in four years.

THE CAPTAINS
Southern Connecticut State University head baseball coach Tim Shea has announced that Griffin Garabedian and Jim Palmer will serve as team captains for the Owls for the 2018 season.

WELCOME TO THE CLUB
Ten newcomers have joined the Owls' squad for the 2018 season – Vicente Mendoza, Isaiah Likely, Anthony Zambito, Patrick Webler, Henry Santiago, Jonas Webler, Cameron O'Toole, Samuel Nepiarsky (transfer from UConn), Jeffrey Walsh and Cameron Winiarz (transfer from AIC).

EIGHT OWLS EARN NE10 YEAR-END HONORS
Greg Zullo, Kyle Hart, Cole Bryant, Nick Lamberti, Jim Palmer, Mike DeMartino, Nate Carney and Brendan Ebert all earned year-end honors from the NE10 in 2017. Lamberti and Zullo earned First Team All-Conference, while Palmer and Bryant earned Second Team All-Conference. DeMartino and Hart earned Third Team All-Conference and both Carney and Ebert earned a spot on the NE-10 All-Rookie Team.

ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT RELEASES NEW LOGO
In conjunction with the 2017 Homecoming Weekend festivities, the Southern Connecticut State University athletic department announced a redesign of its Owl logo, effective Oct. 21, 2017. SCSU partnered with Phoenix Design Works of Maplewood, New Jersey for the development of the new athletics logos.

THRIVING IN THE CLASSROOM
Southern Connecticut had 16 student-athletes selected to the Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for their work in the classroom during the fall, 2017 semester.
