The Southern Connecticut State University softball team is set to play seven games this week. First, the Owls will travel to Pleasantville, N.Y. to play a single game against Pace on Tuesday. Then, on Thursday, they'll travel to Brookville, N.Y. to face LIU-Post in nonconference doubleheader action with the Pioneers. On Friday and Saturday, the Owls welcome the Yellow Jackets of American International for two days worth of doubleheaders. Prior to the start of Saturday's doubleheader, the Owls will honor their four-member senior class.

The Owls hold the all-time series with the Setters, 36-30-2.

ALL-TIME VS. LIU-POST
The Pioneers hold the all-time series with the Owls, 46-13-2.

ALL-TIME VS. AIC
The Yellow Jackets hold the all-time series with Southern, 46-29-1.
 
FESHLER TABBED WITH NE10 WEEKLY HONORS
Madison Feshler was named to the NE10 weekly honor roll on Monday. She went 1-1 last week for the Owls in the circle. Feshler pitched one complete game and had a 1.08 era with eight strikeouts. She captured the victory in the Owls 2-1 win over Saint Rose on April 21 at Pelz Field.
 
FIERY FRESHMAN
The freshman duo Lauryn Zubia and Jayden Delaporta helped the Owls oust Saint Rose in two key conference matchups this past weekend. Zubia hit a RBI single to knock in Delaporta in the Owls 2-1 win on April 21. Delaporta hit a two RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Southern over Saint Rose 3-2 on April 23. 
 
MCINTOSH GARNERS WEEKLY HONORS
McIntosh was a force for the Owls during the week of April 2 as she played an instrumental role in fueling the offensive power. She sported a .444 batting average and .611 slugging percentage while collecting eight hits including one homerun, five runs and four RBI.

BIG BAT BUSCETTO
Sara Buscetto has carried a big bat this season for the Owls. Aside from being tied for the lead on the team in RBI, she also leads the team in triples and is third in the NE10 with four. 

FASTER THAN A SPEEDING BULLET
Sara Buscetto is currently ranked fifth in the NE10 in stolen bases with 13.

GET JAZZY WITH IT
Freshman Jazmyn Martinez recorded the first two wins of her collegiate career against Bentley University and Stonehill College.

QUARTET OF OWLS COLLECTS NE10 WEEKLY HONORS
Senior Jaime Conklin, sophomore Sara Buscetto, junior Delany Turner and freshman Jazmyn Martinez of the Southern Connecticut State University softball team were named to the NE10 weekly honor roll on March 26 for their play in the Owls' doubleheaders against Bentley and Stonehill.

KEEP'EM COMIN' CONKLIN
Redshirt senior Jaime Conklin has enjoyed a nice start to the 2018 season. She is currently fourth on the team in batting average at .280.

MCINTOSH NAMED TO WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Senior Bryanna McIntosh was named to the NE10 weekly honor roll on March 13 for her play in the Owls' season-opening doubleheader on March 12.

A BALANCED ATTACK...PART ONE
Coming into the week, Sara Buscetto leads the team in RBI with 18, while BryAnna McIntosh is next on the team with 16 RBI and Delany Turner falls third in line with 15.

A BALANCED ATTACK...PART TWO
Coming into the week, the Owls have two starters batting at least .300 or better on the year.

VICTORI-OUS
Senior Victoria Ceballos had a strong start in the circle during the Owls' trip to Florida, including two wins and a shutout against Minnesota-Crookston.

IN THE NE10 PRESEASON RANKINGS
The Southern Connecticut State University softball team was selected to finish seventh in the Southwest Division of the NE10 Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.
 
LOOKING BACK AT LAST SEASON
The Southern Connecticut State University softball team finished the 2017 season with an overall record of 8-27. 

CONKLIN, CEBALLOS TABBED 2018 CAPTAINS       
Head coach Jillian Rispoli has announced that redshirt senior Jaime Conklin and senior Victoria Ceballos will serve as team captains for the 2018 season.

Southern Connecticut returns 10 players from last year's squad - Heather Jackson, Jaime Conklin, Victoria Ceballos, BryAnna McIntosh, Maria Zeceña, Sara Buscetto, Delany Turner, Madison Feshler, Julia Lener and Jordan McHale.

Southern Connecticut welcomes seven newcomers:  Jazmyn Martinez, Cailey Botteon, Emily Borysewicz, Caitlyn Parisi, Jayden Delaporta, Kailey Westington and Lauryn Zubia to the squad this year.

Southern Connecticut had 11 student-athletes selected to the Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for their work in the classroom during the fall, 2017 semester.
