ALL-TIME AGAINST FRANKLIN PIERCE
Southern and Franklin Pierce will be facing each other for the first time in program history when the two teams hit the turf at Jess Dow Field. This season marks Franklin Pierce's first season of NCAA Division II football.

THE OWLS LAST TIME OUT
  • Southern was dealt a 19-13 loss at American International on Sept. 28, with the game coming down to inches on the Owls' final drive. After Southern's drive placed them inside the Yellow Jackets' 1-yard line, the Owls couldn't punch it in in the closing seconds.
  • Jackson Ostrowsky was under center for the first time in his collegiate career and put together a solid performance with 27-of-42 passing for 282 yards and two touchdowns.
  • Julian Chung tied the program record for receptions in a game with a 12-catch, 136-yard showing against the Yellow Jackets.
  • Brandon Swain-Price, who transferred to Southern from Assumption, caught both of Ostrowsky's touchdown passes for his first points as an Owl.

NOTES
  • Ostrowsky also accumulated 23 yards on the ground to give him 305 total yards for the day, the most for an Owls' player since Ray Catapano went for 351 total yards (300 passing, 51 rushing) against New Haven on Sept. 29, 2017.
  • Ostrowsky's 282 passing yards are also the most for a Southern quarterback since Catapano's performance against the Chargers.
  • Ostrowsky's passing yards were the most for a SCSU freshman quarterback in a single game since Robert Nittolo threw for 357 yards against Assumption on Oct. 17, 2015.
  • His debut performance earned the first-year Owl the Northeast 10 Rookie of the Week award on Monday, Sept. 30.
  • Chung's 12 receptions were the most for the Owls since Devante Jenkins had 11 against Bentley on Sept. 19, 2015.
  • His 137 receiving yards were also the most for a SCSU wide receiver since Jenkins' 137 against LIU-Post on Oct. 15, 2016.
  • Swain-Prince also became the first Owls receiver to catch two touchdown passes in a game since Zhyaire Fernandes had a pair against Gannon on Sept. 2, 2017.
  • The last time Southern featured eight different receivers to record a reception was Sept. 15, 2018 against New Haven.
  • Jordan Knight (Windsor, Conn.) had a season-high 12 carries, totaling 38 yards for a 3.2 yard-per-carry average. The Owls rushed 34 times for 94 yards with Jonmichael Bivona (Stamford, Conn.) totaling 33 yards on 12 carries and Ostrowsky running for 23 yards on 10 carries.

UP NEXT
Southern will travel to Bentley on Saturday, Oct. 12 before hosting New Haven for Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 19. After back-to-back weeks on the road at Saint Anselm and Stonehill, the Owls will complete the regular season with a home date against Pace on Saturday, Nov. 16.
