THEIR LAST TIME OUT
  • Southern enters the week looking to spell a three-game losing streak, including a 1-0 loss to non-conference in-state foe Bridgeport on Wednesday, Mar. 20, and a doubleheader sweep at the hands of NE10 opponent Franklin Pierce in a grueling twin bill that saw both games go 11 innings.
  • In Game 1 against FPU, Jim Palmer (Milford, Conn.) was 3-for-4 with a RBI while Anthony Zambito (Ridgewood, N.J.) was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Mac Finnegan (Old Saybrook, Conn.) drove in a run, while Connor Redahan (Greenwich, Conn.) scored one.

White gave up two unearned runs in his first start at home and left with a no-decision. Tommy Hughes (Newington, Conn.) was strong in relief but was saddled with the loss in Game 1 after giving up a lead-off homer in the 11th inning. Hughes scattered three hits while striking out six in three innings.
  • In the second game, Nolan Cloutier (Wallingford, Conn.) was 3-for-5 with two RBI while Redahan also drove in the game-tying run. Palmer also had three stolen bases in the second game.
  • Ronnie Rossomando (Stratford, Conn.) gave up three runs over 7 1/3 while striking out eight. • With two hits in the first game, and a hit-by-pitch in the second game, Cameron O'Toole (Grafton, Mass.) has now reached base safely in 12-straight games, the longest active streak in the Owls' lineup.
  • Palmer was 4-for-8 for the doubleheader with a RBI and a run scored for the afternoon with three stolen bases. He has now hit safely in three straight games.
  • Hughes' six strikeouts are a career-high, while it also marks his second-straight appearance in which he has given up one earned run.
