Baseball To Face Concordia, Queens To Start Florida Trip

Southern Connecticut will kick off its annual trip to Florida against Concordia College on Mar. 8-9 at the Santaluces Athletic Complex in Lantana, Fla. The Owls will also face Queens College on Sunday, Mar. 10 at Santaluces.

BACK IN ACTION
When the Owls take the field on Friday, Mar. 8 against Concordia, it will be their first action since Feb. 24.

THEIR LAST TIME OUT
  • The Owls trip to The Ripken Experience complex in Myrtle Beach, Fla. on Feb. 22-24 resulted in a 2-2 mark for the weekend. The Owls defeated Molloy and Mercy while dropping decisions to Dominican and Wilmington.
  • Tyler Criscuolo batted .471 (8-17) with seven RBI and three runs scored. Criscuolo also had two doubles and a triple. Against Molloy, Criscuolo was 3-for-6 with four RBI and followed with a 4-for-5 day against Mercy in the nightcap in which he drove in two more runs. He capped the tripped with a 1-for-3 day against Wilmington and also drove in one of the Owls' two runs.

LEADERS
  • Criscuolo currently ranks among the NE10 leaders in hits (15) and RBI (13) while also ranking in the top 10 in runs (8), batting average (.500), on-base percentage (.545) and slugging percentage (.900).
  • Nick Lamberti checks-in with a .500 average (12-24) in six games with two home runs and 12 RBI. Lamberti also owns a team-best .556 on-base percentage and a team-best five stolen bases in five attempts. Lamberti also boasts three outfield assists for the year.
  • Jim Palmer has driven in 10 runs while Anthony Zambito has scored a team-best 12 runs while leading the team with five walks.
  • Nolan Cloutier and Conor Redahan are both hitting .400 (10-25) while Cloutier has accounted for eight runs scored.
  • Mac Finnegan is hitting at a .324 (11-34) clip with eight RBI.
  • Mike DeMartino leads the Owls with six doubles, which also leads the NE10.

UP NEXT
Following its weekend series against Concordia and Sunday matinee against Queens, the Owls will face Merrimack on Monday, Mar. 11 and against on Friday, Mar. 16, St. Thomas University on Wednesday, Mar. 13, Caldwell and Lynn on Thursday, Mar. 14 and Post on Friday, Mar. 15.
