Track and Field Completed the George Davis Invitational


LOWELL, Mass. – The Southern Connecticut State University track and field squad competed at the George Davis Invitational hosted by the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
 
Men's Track Events
  • Naszier Torrence-Robinson (New Haven, Conn.) placed third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.42 while teammates Isaiah Brooks (East Hartford, Conn.) and Ramiro Sanchez (Bristol, Conn.) came in 12th and 13th with times of 11.93 and 12.57, respectively. 
  • Torrence-Robinson claimed second place in the 200-meters with a time of 22.89 and Jordan Lembo-Frey (Guilford, Conn.) took third with a time of 23.01. Trinity Collins (Middletown, Conn.) placed sixth with a time of 23.63, Naji Middleton (West Hartford, Conn.) finished eighth with a time of 23.73, and Luke Sampson (Mastic, N.Y.) came in ninth with a time of 24.82.
  • Lembo-Frey took third with a time of 50.61, Collins came in fifth with a time of 50.86, Middleton finished sixth with a time of 51.91 and Sampson placed seventh with a time of 54.44.
  • Troy Stegman (Wethersfield, Conn.) placed seventh in the 800-meters with a time of 1:59.42 and teammate TahVaughn Webber (Manchester, Conn.) finished 11th with a time of 2:04.33.
  • Haroon Chaudhry (West Haven, Conn.) came in ninth in the mile with a time of 5:11.87. 
  • Ernie Yelenik (Woodbridge, Conn.) finished ninth in the two-mile with a time of 11:17.55.
  • Jordan Wilkins (Waterbury, Conn.) and Elijah Ortiz (Bristol, Conn.) came in fifth and sixth in the 110 hurdles with times of 16.24 and 16.84, respectively.
  • Ortiz and Joshua Prouty (Ellington, Conn.) finished third and fourth in the 400 hurdles with times of 58.04 and 58.43, respectively.
  • The quartet of Lembo-Frey, Brooks, Torrence-Robinson and Middleton claimed second in the 4x100 relay with a time of 43.07.
  • The quad of Jack Brown (Lyndon Center, Vt.), Dan Brown (Lebanon, Conn.), Prouty, and Zach Burleigh (Southington, Conn.) finished second in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:34.74.
 
Men's Field Events
  • Sanchez placed fourth in the long jump with a jump of 6.10m.
  • Gueber Docteur (Stratford, Conn.) claimed second in the javelin with a throw of 50.46m.
 
Women's Track Events
  • Wincharm Grant (Stamford, Conn.) placed eighth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.24 and teammate Amari Bell (Hartford, Conn.) finished right behind her in 13th with a time of 13.30.
  • Grant claimed ninth in the 200-meter race with a time of 27.31, Emma Cayward (Hamden, Conn.) placed 11th with a time of 27.85, Bell came in 12th with a time of 28.71, Nasharie Davis (Middletown, Conn.) finished 14th with a time of 28.87 and Bonita Alisa (Stratford, Conn.) placed 16th with a time of 28.94. Cayward took fifth in the 400-meters with a time of 1:01.75 and 11th in the 200-meters with a time of 27.85.
  • Emily Maffeo (East Haven, Conn.) claimed third in the 800-meters with a time of 2:23.84 and Ashley Cummings (Bristol, Conn.) placed ninth with a time of 2:41.26.
  • Meghan Delaney (Old Saybrook, Conn.) came in seventh in the mile with a time of 5:36.05 and teammate Emilie Noreika (Prospect, Conn.) finished eighth with a time of 5:40.72.
  • Christina Gubetta (Winsted, Conn.) finished seventh in the 3000-meters with a time of 11:48.96.
  • Alisa came in fourth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.44, Davis placed fifth with a time of 16.99 and Mikayla Mancini (Clinton, Conn.) finished seventh with a time of 18.57.
  • Mancini finished sixth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:09.84 and teammate Sarah Granese placed seventh with a time of 1:12.82.
  • The quartet of Maffeo, Cummings, Noreika and Delaney took first place in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:23.37.
 
Women's Field Events
  • Rachel Fleischer (Derby, Conn.) took second in the long jump with a jump of 5.13m and Natalie Bowens (Uncasville, Conn.) came in fifth with a jump of 4.56m.
  • Fleischer claimed first place in the triple jump with a jump of 11.54m
