The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team will travel to Garden City, N.Y. to face Adelphi on Wednesday, Apr. 10 before hosting Post University in a non-conference matchup at The Ballpark at SCSU on Thursday, Apr. 11 at 3:30 PM.

ALL-TIME AGAINST ADELPHI
Southern and Adelphi have met 38 times with Adelphi holding a 21-16-1 edge against the Owls. Adelphi has won the last four meetings against Southern Connecticut.

ALL-TIME AGAINST POST
Southern holds an all-time mark of 33-5-3 in 44 meetings all-time against Post, including a 13-10 win against the Eagles on Mar. 15 in Boca Rotan, Fla.

THEIR LAST TIME OUT
  • The Owls are coming off a 2-3 weekend that saw then lose an extra-inning affair against No. 7 Southern New Hampshire, 5-4, in Manchester, N.H. before splitting a pair of doubleheaders at Stonehill and Bentley.
  • Against Bentley, Mike DeMartino was 5-for-9 in the doubleheader with four RBI and two runs scored. DeMartino was 2-for-4 with two RBI in the first game and 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored in the second game. 
  • Mac Finnegan was 4-for-8 for the day while Trevor Whalen was 2-for-4 with two RBI in the first game.  
  • On the mound, freshman hurler Brandon White improved to 2-0 after winning his second-straight decision. White gave up five runs, with only three of which were allowed, while scattering seven hits over seven innings and striking out three. 
  • Quantique White pitched two scoreless, no-hit innings for his fourth save of the season. 
  • Against Stonehill, Tyler Criscuolo collected three hits on the day while also driving in five runs and scoring twice. In the second game, Criscuolo was 2-for-4 with four RBI.
  • DeMartino and Nick Lamberti also collected three hits on the day as Lamberti was 3-for-5 with a RBI and a run scored in the second game, after scoring twice in the first game, while DeMartino was 1-for-5 with a RBI in the first game and 2-4 with a RBI and a run scored in Game 2.  
  • On the mound, Joe Nemchek picked up the win in the second game to improve to 2-0 on the year. Nemchek held Stonehill to a single run on six hits over six innings.
  • In the first game, freshman Mike Ferrett extended his scoreless inning streak to 10 2/3, but was touched for his first collegiate run allowed in the second game.  
  • Against SNHU, Jim Palmer was 3-for-5 with a double, RBI and a stolen base. 
  • Criscuolo returned to the Owls' lineup after missing the last 15 games and was 1-for-4 with a RBI.
  • On the mound, Ronnie Rossomando held the Penmen's high-powered offense to four runs on eight hits over six innings and took the no-decision. 
  • Tommy Hughes took the loss in relief after giving up the game-winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning. Hughes gave up two hits over 3 2/3. 

BATTING STATS
  • Senior co-captain Tyler Criscuolo returned from a career-threatening injury this past week and made an immediate impact on the Owls' lineup. After missing 15 games, Crisculo went 1-for-4 with a RBI as the Owls took nationally-ranked No. 7 Southern New Hampshire to extra innings. Criscuolo posted a team-leading eight RBI for the week and drove in a run in each game he played while extending a hitting streak to nine games.
  • Criscuolo extended his hitting streak to nine games. The Owls' captain made his first appearance in the lineup in 15 games against Southern New Hampshire on Friday, Apr. 5 due to injury and picked up where he left off as he drove in a run in four of the five games this weekend since his return. For the weekend, Criscuolo batted .333 (7-21) with eight RBI.  
  • For the year, Criscuolo is hitting .426 (23-54) with five doubles, two home runs as well as 21 RBI and 13 runs scored while also slugging .667 with a .500 on-base percentage.
  • Connor Redahan leads the Owls with a .319 average (37-116) while lead the Owls in hits (37) and doubles (13). Redahan has also driven in 18 runs while scoring 22 more with a .474 slugging percentage and a .398 on-base percentage.
  • Nick Lamberti checks-in at .316 (36-114) with 22 RBI and 21 runs scored with a .447 slugging percentage and a .409 on-base percentage. Lamberti has also drawn 13 walks and stole 11 bases.
  • Jim Palmer is hitting .308 (36-117) with 10 doubles, 23 RBI and 21 runs scored as well as 11 stolen bases.
  • Mike DeMartino extended his hitting streak to 11 games, including three-straight games with multiple hits. DeMartino hit .583 (7-12) with five RBI over his last three games.  
  • DeMartino is hitting .304 (34-112) for the year with a team-leading 13 doubles as wlel as 19 RBI and 14 runs scored.
  • Cameron O'Toole posts a team-best .423 on-base percentage with a .299 (23-77) average with 13 RBI and 16 runs scored.
  • Nolan Cloutier is hitting .277 (31-112) with 10 doubles, 15 RBI and 26 runs scored – good for second in the Owls' line-up.
  • Mac Finnegan saw a solid weekend at the plate with three-straight games with multiple hits while hitting .500 (6-12) for the weekend.  
  • Finnegan is hitting .263 (30-114) for the year while also leading the team with 23 RBI and 21 runs scored.
  • Anthony Zambito ranks second in the NE10 and seventh nationally with a team-best 26 stolen bases for the year. Zambito also leads the team with 23 walks and 27 runs scored.

ON THE MOUND
  • Brandon White is currently 3-0 with a team-leading 3.75 ERA. The first-year Owl has allowed 15 earned runs across 36 innings pitched in six appearances with 25 strikeouts.
  • White has won back-to-back starts and has now allowed more than three earned runs in four-straight starts.
  • Nate Carney is close-behind White with a 3.98 ERA and a 1-5 record that isn't indicative of the season he's having. Carney hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in his last four starts, but has only received more than two runs in one of those starts. Carney has posted a 1.91 ERA with 22 strikeouts over his last 28 2/3 innings pitched while giving up 27 hits and four earned runs.
  • Quantique White leads the Owls, and ranks third in the NE10, with four saves for the year. White enters the week having allowed just one baserunner in his last two appearances.
  • Freshman Tommy Hughes has a team-high 15 2/3 innings pitched out of the bullpen with 16 strikeouts.
  • Freshman Mike Ferrett opened his collegiate career with 10 2/3 scoreless innings before giving up a run against Stonehill this weekend. He carries a 0.69 ERA with one run allowed in 13 innings pitched to date.
  • Joe Nemcheck improved to 2-0 on the season after holding Stonehill to a single run on six hits over six strong innings this weekend.

WHAT LIES AHEAD

Following their mid-week tilts against Adelphi and Post, the Owls will then travel to Syracuse, N.Y. to face Le Moyne for a three-game series. The Owls and Dolphins will play two games on Saturday, Apr. 13 and a single game on Sunday, Apr. 14.
 
ALL THE COMFORTS OF HOME
After this weekend, the Owls are set to finish-out the regular season in Connecticut with 12 home dates, and its only road contest at University of New Haven.
