Southern Connecticut State University football will host Franklin Pierce on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 2 p.m. at Jess Dow Field as part of SCSU's Homecoming 2022 celebration. The Owls enter the game in search of their first win of the year at 0-6 overall and 0-3 in Northeast 10 Conference play while Franklin Pierce is 1-5 overall and 1-3 in NE10 action.

ALL-TIME AGAINST FRANKLIN PIERCE
Southern and Franklin Pierce have played each twice, all-time, with the Owls winning both matchups. Last season, Southern defeated the Ravens, 43-24, in Rindge, N.H.
 
OWLS NOTES
  • Taylon Papallo leads the NE10 with 441 receiving yards as well as a 16.3 per-catch average while his 73.5 yards per game ranks second.
  • Papallo's three touchdown receptions are tied for fourth in the conference.
  • With 65 punt return yards, Papallo's 502 all-purpose yards and 83.7 per-game average rank fourth in the conference.
  • Diante Wilson is sixth in the NE10 with 305 rushing yards while his 50.8 yards per game rank seventh.
  • Wilson has two rushing and one receiving touchdown to date and is tied with Papallo with a team-leading three touchdowns.
  • Shawn Martin is third in the NE10 with 415 kick return yards.
  • On defense, Robet Nunez is second in the conference with 49 tackles.
  • Hasan Dominick ranks eight with 39 including two for a loss.
  • Joe Digello is right behind Dominick with 37 tackles including a team-best two sacks, 5.5 tackles for loss and an interception.
  • Matt Ansell, Ben Eichman and Ja'Kai Young have all recorded two interceptions to date.
 
SCOUTING THE RAVENS
  • Bryce Macina has played in six games under center, totaling 50 of 99 passes to date for 570 yards and two touchdowns.
  • EJ Burgess is the Ravens leading rusher with 106 carries for 361 yards and a touchdown.
  • Burgess also has 13 catches for 72 yards.
  • Christian Simon leads the Ravens in receptions (16), yards (177) and receiving touchdowns (2).
  • On defense, Trey Sejour leads the Ravens with 47 tackles with 3.5 for loss including 2.5 sacks.
  • Harrison Barjolo has totaled 44 tackles to date while Chris Yeboah has a team-high four sacks.
 
UP NEXT
Following its tilt against Franklin Pierce, Southern will play the first of consecutive games on the road. The Owls will travel to Bentley on Saturday, Oct. 22 and American International on Saturday, Oct. 29 before returning home to host Post on Saturday, Nov. 5 and New Haven on Saturday, Nov. 12 for Senior Day.
