Southern Connecticut football will travel to Springfield, Mass. to take on American International College on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 12 p.m. at Ronald J. Abdow Field. The Owls head into the weekend with a record of 1-7 overall and 1-4 in the NE10 while American International is 0-7 overall and 0-4 in conference play.

Owls Notes
  • Southern enters the weekend with a record of 1-4 in the NE10 and are coming off a 24-3 loss to Bentley.
  • Southern won its last home game on Oct. 15 with a triumph against Franklin Pierce, 37-20, in front of a Homecoming crowd of over 5,000.
  • Owls receiver Tylon Papallo leads Southern's offense with a league-leading 539 receiving yards, on 33 receptions across eight games, for a 67.4 yards-per-game average, which is good for second in the conference.
  • Papallo's 16.3 yards per reception also leads the Northeast 10 Conference, while his four touchdowns rank fourth among all NE10 receivers.
  • Papallo is also third in all-purpose yards in the NE10 at 690, which includes a conference-best 161 on punt returns. His 86.3 all-purpose yards per game ranks third.
  • Papallo also has the NE10's only punt return for a touchdown, an 81-yard dash against Franklin Pierce.  
  • Marc Reali leads the Owls with 802 passing yards while splitting time with Joe Bernard, who has accounted for 577 yards.
  • Diante Wilson has totaled 368 yards on the ground, good for sixth in the conference, while also scoring two touchdowns.
  • Shawn Martin's 525 kick return yards are second in the conference.
  • Martin has also totaled 67 yards on the ground, 41 yards receiving and 16 yards on punt returns for 659 all-purpose yards, which ranks fifth in the NE10.
  • Robert Nunez leads Southern and ranks second in the conference with 63 tackles.
  • Hasan Dominick is fifth at 55 tackles, including five for a loss.
  • Joe Digello has tallied 47 tackles and is seventh in the NE10 with four sacks, while leading the conference with 10 tackles for loss.
  • Digello has also forced two fumbles, and is tied with teammate Ben Eichman for the fourth-most in the conference.
  • Digello also found the end zone this season, with a 50-yard interception return against New Haven.
  • Ja'Kai Young ranks third in the conference with three interceptions for the year, while Eichman has totaled two interceptions and has broken up four passes.
  • Matt Ansell also has two interceptions, making the Owls the only team with three players with multiple interceptions this year.
  • Quinton Haughton ranks eighth in the conference with five breakups.
  • As a team, Southern ranks fourth with 1,382 passing yards and fifth with 2,117 total offensive yards.
  • Southern leads the NE10 with 204 punt return yards as well as a 15.7 yard per return average.
  • Southern is also tied for the NE10 lead with 11 interceptions.
  • Southern is also at the top of the NE10 charts with fewest penalty yards per game at 46.0.
