NEW ORLEANS, La. - Southern Connecticut State women's cross country was ranked first in Week Five of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association East Regional Rankings, as announced on Tuesday, Oct. 10. This is the Owls' highest in-season ranking ever in USTFCCCA East Region Rankings.
This number one ranking comes after the great performance at the Lewis Crossover Invitational this past weekend. Southern finished 22nd out of 33 teams.
Briana Grecco led the Owls with a time of 22:51.4 while
Courtney Henchcliffe finished close behind at 23:07.6.
Megan Whitnell was the Owls' third finisher at 23:22.9 followed by
Emilie Noreika at 23:59.4
The Owls will return to action on Sunday, Oct. 22 in Mansfield, Mass. at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships.
