Trinidad Rodriguez Ricchiuti Breaks Single-Game Assist Record As SCSU Field Hockey Tops UNH, 4-3, For Fourth-Straight Win

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut field hockey's Trinidad Rodriguez Ricchuiti broke the program single-game assist record with four in a 4-3 win against New Haven. The Owls Northeast-10 Conference win against the Chargers is their fourth-straight victory as they improved to 4-2 in the NE10 and 5-5 overall. UNH dropped 3-8 overall and 3-3 in conference play.

Rodriguez Ricchuiti set up all four of the Owls goals, three coming as the inserter on corner sets. The second-year Owl broke the record previously set by Ann Berry in 2008, and also matched by Zoe Fanolis in 2016, of three assists in a single game. Rodriguez Ricchuiti's seven assists are the most for the Owls in a single season since Bailey McGinnis had seven in 2012.



In addition to Rodriguez Ricchiuti's showing against the Chargers, Tori Geaglone scored twice and also added an assist, setting up Natalia Fiato with her third goal of the year. It was Meghan Tillona's goal, off a pass from Rodgriguez Ricchiuti that erased an early one-goal deficit. It was Tillona's eighth goal of the season, which ties Geaglone for the team lead. Rodriguez Ricchiuti now has a team-high seven assists for the season.

Southern is back in action this weekend when it hosts Saint Anselm on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. at Jess Dow Field. SCSU Field Hockey will honor Kayla Siemer for Senior Day prior to the start of the game.
