Southern Connecticut baseball will take on Post University on Wednesday, Mar. 15 at 11 a.m. in Miami Shores, Fla. Southern enters the game with a record of 10-3 overall while Post stands at 7-11 on the season.
 
Spring Break
Southern is currently 3-1 in four games in Florida, with a pair of wins against Alliance as well as a 15-8 route of Molloy on Monday, Mar. 13. The Owls have six of its last seven games and stand at 10-3 overall.
 
Owls Notes
  • Connor Goggin is coming off a 4-for-4 day against that saw him belt his third home run of the season. For the year, Goggin leads Southern in average (.417), hits (20), doubles (6), home runs (3) and runs scored (17) as well as slugging percentage (.771), on-base percentage (.525) and OPS (1.296).
  • Billy Sullivan is hitting at a .358 clip (19-53) with 16 runs scored as well as three doubles and nine RBI.
  • Sullivan also boasts a .453 on-base percentage.
  • Andrew Eng has been on-fire as of late and is riding a seven-game hitting streak. Eng is hitting .533 (8-15) over his last four games with three home runs, 12 home runs and seven runs scored.
  • For the year, Eng is hitting .356 (16-45) with three home runs, 19 RBI and 14 runs scored while also leading the Owls with 15 walks and hosts a .516 on-base percentage.
  • Mike Ferrett checks in at .341 (15-44) with five doubles, two home runs and 12 RBI to go along with 12 runs scored.
  • Colin Mason is hitting .316 (12-38) with 14 RBI and 13 runs scored. Mason has driven in 11 runs in his last five games.
  • Jack Drewry has driven in 13 runs to date, including seven in his last five games.
  • Zack Bedryczuk is also riding a seven-game hitting streak with 13 runs scored. Bedryczuk has scored a run in six-straight games and driven in a run in four straight.
  • On the mound, Nick Guarino is 3-1 with a team-leading 3.13 ERA in four starts.
  • Tommy Benincaso improved to 2-0 with a win in each of his last two starts while Steve Phillips leads the team with 14 strikeouts.
  • Tyshaun Diaz has been dominant out of the bullpen and has yet to allow a run while giving up just four hits in 6 2/3 innings in four appearances. He has also totaled seven strikeouts for the year.
  • Tommy Hughes is 3-for-3 in save opportunities this  year and hasn't allowed a run in his last three outings, while holding opposing hitters to a single hit.
  • Peter Phillips leads the team with five appearances out of the bullpen and is 2-0 on the year.
  • Matt Smith and Brett Fee have also been strong as the Owls' long relievers. Smith has logged 7 2/3 innings in three appearances and holds a 1.17 ERA with one earned run allowed in that span. Fee has totaled 11 strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings while allowing just two hits and hosts a team-best 0.71 WHIP.
