Lexi Bracher Advances To USAG Collegiate National Championships Vault Finals

DENTON, Texas.- Southern Connecticut gymnast Lexi Bracher (Oakton, Va.) finished in the top-five in the vault event at the 2023 USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships, hosted by Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. Bracher will advance to the individual finals on Saturday, Apr. 8, 2023.
 
Bracher posted a team-leading 9.8 on the Vault to move on to the event finals. While the Owls did not qualify as a team for the event finals, Bracher moves on to the individual finals after finishing in the top five in an event during her session. Bracher was tied for third.

SCSU Gymnastics Highlights At 2023 USAG Collegiate National Championships
 
The Owls' Vault team led the way for Southern, who as a team compiled a score of 192.850. The Vault team scored a 48.675 for its second-highest score of the season. In addition to Bracher, Brooke Burkhart, competing for the first time this season, finished tied for ninth with a 9.750 with Hanna Zebdi. Libby Allen (9.7) and Hannah Stahlbrodt (9.675) rounded out the Owls' scoring in the event.
 
Ciana Rios had the Owls highest score of the meet with a 9.825 in the Floor event, but was edged out of advancing after finishing in seventh place. It was Rios' fifth score of 9.8-or-higher in her last six competitions. Zebdi also starred in the Floor event for the Owls with a 9.800, followed by Alexa Melanson with a 9.725 and Erica Beyer with a 9.700.
 
On the beam, Stahlbrodt led the Owls with a 9.675 for a tie of 11th place. Maria Damiano (9.575), Emiley Kahl (9.55), Alexa Melanson (9.500) and Angel Lee (9.500) rounded out the Owls' afternoon in the event.
 
On the bars, Stahlbrodt once-again led the Owls with a 9.725 for a tie of 11th place, followed by Rios with a 9.675. Audrey Arnold and Jayci Jordan both scored a 9.600.  
 
Stahlbrodt was also third in the All-Around competition with a 38.750.
