Jordan Davis, Rachel Fleischer and Sachin Manning Earn All-American Honors At NCAA Div. II Naitonal Championships

PUEBLO, Colo. – Southern Connecticut track & field's contingent that competed in this weekend's NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships will return to New Haven with three All-Americans. Jordan Davis, Rachel Fleischer and Sachin Manning also finished in the top 8 in their respective events to earn the national accolades.

Davis was up first on the third day of competition and finished fourth in the javelin with a mark of 72.85 (239'). Davis started the event with a distance of 71.72, which placed him third through the first round of throws. Davis' fourth-place clinching throw came in the sixth round, which was also good for the third-best mark of the final eight competitors. The First Team All-American honor was his second in as many years after claiming last season's title.

Fleischer was next up for the Owls and opened with a career-best 12.17 on her first jump. She followed with a mark of 12.48 which was good for eighth place to earn her First Team honors. Fleischer earned her first All-American honor of her career in her first trip to the NCAA National Championship of four-year career at Southern Connecticut. She previously won the Northeast 10 Indoor and Outdoor Triple Jump Championships this year, and won the Outdoor title in 2021. Fleischer is also the first SCSU women's track student-athlete to earn All-American honors since Briana Burt (100m Hurdles) in 2019.

Manning qualified for the 400m Hurdles after finishing ninth overall in the First Round on Friday, May 25. Manning posted a time of 52.47 to earn Second Team All-American honors, for the fourth All-American honor of his career. He previously earned All-American honors in the 400 Meter Hurdles in 2022 as well as the 4x400 Meter Relay at the 2021 and 2022 NCAA Championships. Manning also won the 2022 New England Championship and the 2021 and 2022 NE10 Championships.
