SCSU Field Hockey Drops Close Game At AIC, 5-3

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Southern Connecticut field hockey lost to American International, 5-3, in the Owls' Northeast-10 Conference opener in Springfield, Mass. With the loss, the Owls dropped to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in NE10 play while AIC improved to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the NE10.

Tori Geaglone scored her fourth goal of the season while Meghan Tillona scored twice for the Owls in the closing minutes. The duo are tied for the team-lead with four goals apiece. Ruby Webb picked up an assist on Geaglone's goal while Geaglone's had an assist on Tillona's first goal.



On Tillona's second goal, which came minutes after the Owls' second goal, the Owls pressure saw Mia Oliverio pick off an attempted clear and take off on goal. Oliverio's shot on goal was stopped but Tillona cleaned up the loose ball for her second marker of the game.

Rachel Miller started in goal for the Owls and played the first half before being relieved by Kaitlyn Parent for the second half. Miller had three saves in the first 30 minutes.
