SCSU Football Falls To Bentley, 13-6

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – In a rain-drenched day that stalled both offenses, Southern Connecticut dropped a 13-6 decision against Bentley at Jess Dow Field. Southern goes to 0-4 overall and 0-2 on the season while Bentley improved to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

Hasan Dominick and Bryan Barnes were a force on defense for the Owls, totaling a career-best 26 tackles between the two of them. Barnes finished with a seaso-best 15 tackles, including seven solo tackels and eight assisted. Dominick finished with 11 tackles while he also intercepted a pass, forced a fumble and broke up a pass. Kuhron Walker, making his first start of the season, finished with 10 tackles and a fumble recovery while Quinton Haunton had five tackles and blocked a field goal by the Falcons. 



Keith Ridley hooked up with Ryan Soules on the play of the game as time expired in regulation. With the Owls fighting off a shutout, Ridley connected with his senior receiver on a 45-yard touchdown pass to cut Bentley's lead to seven with no time remaining on the clock. E'lijah Gray had a season-high 63 yards rushing on 16 carries.

Southern is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 30 when it hosts Saint Anselm at 12 p.m. at Jess Dow Field.
