SCSU Men's Soccer Duo Named To CSC Academic All-District Team

Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer standouts Alex da Cunha and Jacob Rose were named to the 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators.

To gain eligibility, student-athletes must post a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher and start in 90% of their team's games. da Cunha and Rose both earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the third-straight year after also being named to the team in 2022 and 2023. da Cunha will graduate with a degree in business administration with a 3.83 GPA. Rose will complete his degree in healthcare studies with a 3.60 GPA.

da Cunha was also named to the NE10 First Team for his fourth consecutive all-conference honor of his career. As one of the top defensive players in the conference, da Cunha also had one goal and an assist this season. Rose also stood as one of the Owls top defensive players this season, starting in 16 games for Southern on the back line.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
