SCSU Womens' Swimming & Diving Finishes 2nd At Blue Devil's Friday Night Sprints

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut State University women's swimming & diving finished second out of three at the 2024 Blue Devil's Friday Night Sprints hosted by Central Connecticut and featuring St. Joseph's. CCSU totaled 75 points while Southern was second with 70. St. Joseph's collected five points on the night.

200 Yard Medley Relay
Southern's team of Aralyn Vogel, Abby Lyons, Reina Loiacano and Sierra DuCharme finished third in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:57.19. The Owls' "B" team of Ella Marzec, Abbey Piech, Zoe McNeill and Sara Roney finished fourth at 2:00.20.

200 Yard Freestyle
Molly Kennedy led the Owls with a third-place finish in the 200 Free with a time of 2:00.73 while Emma St. Hilaire was sixth at 2:06.26.

50 Yard Backstroke
Hailey Nyquist won the 50 Back with a time of 28.54 while Arianna Arturi was third at 29.25 followed by Julia Pitchell in fourth place at 29.40.

100 Yard Butterfly
Kali Dominguez was the Owls' top finisher with a time of 1:03.71 in the 100 Fly for fourth place followed by Paola Castillo in fifth at 1:03.77.

50 Yard Freestyle
Justice Glasgow finished second overall in the 50 Free with a time of 25.80 while Jasmine Uricchio was sixth at 26.51. Zoe McNeill finished ninth at 27.02.

100 Yard Backstroke
Molly Kennedy was third in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:15.66.

50 Yard Butterfly
Justice Glasgow won the 50 Fly with a time of 26.96 while Ella Marzec was fourth at 27.43 and Hailey Nyquist was fifth at 27.68.

100 Yard Backstroke
Brooke Keeney won the 100 Back with a time of 1:04.72 followed by Reina Loiacano in second at 1:05.61 and Sierra Ducharme in third at 1:05.70.

50 Yard Breaststroke
Allyson Quitos finished third in the 50 Breaststroke with a time of 32.56 followed by Emma St. Hilaire in fourth at 33.51 and Abigail Lyons in fifth at 33.80.

100 Yard Freestyle
Paolo Castillo was the Owls' top finisher in the 100 Free with a time of 58.73 for sixth place followed by Zoe McNeil in seventh at 58.98.

100 Yard Individual Medley
Arianna Arturi was fourth in the 100 IM with a time of 1:02.79 followed by Aralyn Vogel in fifth place at 1:03.90.

200 Yard Freestyle Relay
The team of Julia Pitchell, Jasmine Uricchio, Brooke Keeney and Jordan Herman finished fourth in the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:49.39.
