Kisha Francois, Patrice Mansfield Smash Meet Records at Art Kadish Elm City Challenge

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut Women's Indoor Track's Kisha Francois and Patrice Mansfield both broke the meet record for Long Jump and the 55 Meter Hurdles at the Art Kadish Elm City Challenge on Friday, December 13th. 

Mansfield ran an 8.12 in the first home meet of the season, finishing first in the 55m hurdles. That beat the previous meet record of 8.21 and was a personal best for Mansfield. Francois jumped 5.71m, also landing herself in first place and breaking the previous record of 5.57m. 

The Owls saw several PRs and first place finishes at their first of three home meets this season. Ella Maclean won the 55m dash, running a personal best 7.06. Francois and Mackenzie Glenn also PR'd finishing in second (7.17) and fifth (7.40) respectively. 

Maddie Hathorn finished first in Pole Vault, clearing 3.25m (10-08.00). Johniece Jones finished third in the 55m hurdles at 9.06, and Joelle Budz came in fourth at 9.25. 

Belle Smith won the Weight Throw, reaching 14.73m (48-04.00). Three other Owls threw personal bests in the event in Celine Bozukluian (12.79m), Sydney Dolbier (12.35m), and Valerie Torres (11.86m). 

In the Pentathlon, Ginny Mullen finished second in the 55m Hurdles (8.73), . Isabella Sorrentino finished first in the Shot Put (10.80m).

The Owls return tomorrow, Saturday, December 13 for the second day of the Art Kadish Elm City Challenge.
