SCSU Women's Indoor T&F Sweeps NE10 Weekly Awards

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut Women's Indoor Track and Field swept all three Northeast-10 Conference weekly awards, with Patrice Mansfield named NE10 Track Athlete of the week, Kisha Francois named NE10 Field Athlete of the week, and Deja Fitzpatrick-Bell named NE10 Rookie of the Week. 

This week at the Art Kadish Elm City Challenge, Patrice Mansfield broke the meet record in the 55m Hurdles with a time of 8.12. This broke the previous record of 8.21, and was a personal-best for Mansfield. She also recorded a personal-best in the 200m dash, placing fourth with a time of 25.78. 

At the same meet, Kisha Francois broke the meet record in the Long Jump. She reached 5.71m (18-08.75), shattering the previous record of 5.57m. She also won the 200m dash with a time of 25.32, and PR'd in the 55m dash with a time of 7.17, placing second. 

First-year Owl Deja Fitzpatrick-Bell also had a great weekend. She won the Triple Jump with a mark of 11.22m (36-09.75), and recorded a personal-best 5.16m (16-11.25) in the Long Jump. 

Southern will take a break for the New Year before returning to Moore Field House on January 11th for the William Sutherland Invitational.
