Jack Mulcunry Posts the Fifth Fastest Time in the 600 Meter in NCAA Division II History at BU's Sharon-Colyear Danville Season Opener

Southern Connecticut men's track and field opened up their indoor season at Boston University's and Yale University's season openers.  


 

BU SHARON COLYEAR-DANVILE SEASON OPENER 

In the first meet of the season at Boston University's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, Jack Mulcunry posted the fifth fastest time in NCAA Division II history in the 600 Meter Run.  

Mulcunry's fifth fastest time in NCAA DII history earned him third place with a mark of 1:18.85 in the 600 Meter Run. Mekkhi Adkins came in sixth at 1:26.51.  

Sam Sandler finished fifth in the 300 Meter Run at 34.29. Right behind him in sixth was Nolan Freeman at 34.33.  

YALE SEASON OPENER 

At the Yale Season Opener at the Cox Cage in New Haven, Conn., first-year Owl Mateo Viviano took home a win while Leo Jolly and Jordan Ribeiro had personal bests.  

First-year Owl Malachy Murray finished seventh in the 200 Meter Run, with a mark of 23.05. Riley Bjornberg came in 10th at 23.25.  

In the 400 Meter Run, Max Musial came in sixth with a time of 51.39. First-year Aidan Lanciault came in 10th finishing with a time of 52.18.  

Lanciault also finished sixth in the Long Jump with a mark of 6.55m (21-06.00). First-year Holden Speed finished eighth at 6.22m (20-05.00) and first-year Lawrence Hicks came in ninth at 6.20m (20-04.25).  

In the Pole Vault, the Owls had three finishers in the top six. Viviano won the event with a mark of 4.50m (14-09.00). Dylan Torok finished fourth at 4.05m (13-03.50 and Peyton Adams finished sixth at 3.90m (12-09.50).  

Shot Put saw Southern Connecticut earning five of the top six spots in the event and had two Owls with personal bests. Cameron Belton won the event at 17.10m (56-01.25). Natanael Barbosa Torres placed second with a mark of 16.87m (55-04.25). Jolly came in fourth and had a personal best of 14.08m (46-02.50). Ribeiro also had a personal best of 13.80m (45-03.50) for fifth place and Christopher Bon Tempo came in sixth at 13.56m (44-06.00).  

JC Joyner came in sixth in the Triple Jump at 13.09m (42-11.50).  
 

The Owls are back on Saturday, Dec. 13 and Sunday, Dec. 14 to host the Art Kadish Elm City Challenge.
