Hannah Caiola Breaks NCAA Division II 300 Meter Indoor Record At BU's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener

Southern Connecticut State University women's indoor track & field opened the 2024-25 season at Boston University and Yale University's season openers. 



SHARON COLYEAR-DANVILLE SEASON OPENER
In the Owls first competition of the 2024-25 indoor season at Boston University's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season opener, Hannah Caiola broke the NCAA Division II 300 Meters record with a time of 38.17.

Caiola's time passed the record set in 2024 by Minnesota State's Denisha Cartwright who ran a 38.64. She also broke the SCSU indoor record of 40.09 set by Anna-Sashia Jones in 2022. Caiola's previous-best time was 40.11, also at BU's Season Opener.

Kisha Francois also clocked a sub-40 time at 39.77 for sixth place out of 26 finishers, which bested her previous mark of 40.54 in 2023. Avery Winters was 10th at 40.10, which matched her previous career-best from 2023. Ella Maclean was 11th at 40.46.

In the 600 Meter Run, Leticia DoNascimento ran a career-best 1:37.83, beating her previous PR of 1:40.97, for sixth place. Julia Mansfield was seventh at 1:39.88.

YALE SEASON OPENER
At the Yale Season Opener at Coxe Cage in New Haven, Conn., Belle Smith posted a pair of top-three finishes while Patrice Mansfield and Maddie Hathorn both posted career-bests.

Smith finished second in the Shot Put event with a mark of 12.69m (41-07.75) and third in the Weight Throw at 14.95m (49-00.75).

Mansfield posted a personal-best time of 26.11 in the 200 Meter Run, besting her previous time of 26.13, to take third place out of 32 finishers. First-year Owl Deja Fitzpatrick-Bell was ninth at 26.68.

In the Pole Vault, Hathorn hit a PR of 10-10.00', besting her previous best of 10-06.00' for third place out of 13 finishers.

Mackenzie Glenn finished fourth in the Long Jump event with a mark of 5.42m (17-09.50) while Uliana Pokutnia was fifth in the Triple Jump at 10.85m.
