SCSU Women’s Track and Field Wins First NE10 Indoor Title Since 2011, Fourth Indoor Title in Program History

BOSTON, Mass. – Southern Connecticut women's track and field won their first NE10 Indoor title since 2011 and fourth NE10 Indoor title in program history on Saturday at the TRACK at New Balance Center. The Owls finished the 2024 NE10 Indoor Championships with a total of 201.75 points, captured eight individual championships, nine silver medals including two relay silver medals, and three bronze medals. 
 
In addition to the women winning their fourth NE10 Indoor Title in program history, the men also won their seventh-straight NE10 Indoor title and 18th title overall. This is the first time since 2011 and the fifth time in league history in the NE10 that a school has won both the men's and women's track ans field championships. Also, this is the first time in NE10 history that a school has won both the men's and women's track and field championships, and the men's and women's cross country championships in the same academic year.

Track Results
In the 60 Meter Dash, Ella Maclean defended her title and finished in first place with a time of 7.65. Kisha Francois came in second place and finished with a time of 7.72.
 
In the 400 Meter Dash, Hannah Caiola took first place with a time of 56.58 as Avery Winters finished in second place with a time of 57.69.
 
In the 3000 Meters, it was another Owls' sweep just as the 5000 meters podium yesterday. Courtney Henchcliffe posted a time of 10:27.50 in first place, Emilie Noreika finished in second place with a time of 10:37.85 and PJ Dauphiniais came in third place with a time of 10:40.13.
 
In the 200 Meter Dash, Ella Maclean defended her title again and finished in first place with a time of 24.73 as Avery Winters finished in second place with a time of 25.11.
 
In the 4x800 Relay, the Owls' team of Abigail Bajorek, Julia Mansfield, Briana Grecco and Leticia DoNascimento finished in second place with a time of 9:50.31.

In the 60 Meter Hurdles, Patrice Mansfield finished in third place with a time of 9.08.

In the Shot Put, Belle Smith came in first place with a mark of 12.28 meters.
