Box Score GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - Southern Connecticut women's lacrosse fell to #4 Adelphi University, 18-4, in an NE10 matchup on Wednesday night. The Owls dropped to an overall record of 6-3 and an NE10 record of 2-2. The Panthers improved to an overall record of 7-1 and an NE10 record of 4-0.

Kirsten McIntire led the Owls with three goals and three points. Jordan Fisher also scored a goal and recorded a point for Southern Connecticut. Amelia Mansfield and Bailey McDermott led the team with an assist, as Sarah Robbins had a team-best of three ground balls and three caused turnovers. Mansfield also had a team-best of three draw controls. Additionally, Hannah Holmes and Alexandra Ruel picked up two ground balls for the Owls. 

Adelphi got off to a quick start with a goal to the start the game within the first minute of play as they would go on to score eight more goals in the opening quarter. With seven minutes left to play in the first quarter, Jordan Fisher scored a free-position goal, and the first goal of the day for Southern. In the second period, the Panthers kept going with their scoring momentum; however, Kirsten McIntire scored her first goal of the day, unassisted, just before halftime. 

Adelphi continued to score goals during their offensive opportunities in the second half. Nevertheless, McIntire would go on to score her second goal of the game in the third quarter, with an assist by Bailey McDermott. Then in the fourth quarter, McIntire scored her third and final goal of the day with an assist from Amelia Mansfield. 

The Owls will return to action on Friday, March 29 at 11:00 a.m. in a non-conference matchup against Post University at Jess Dow Field in New Haven, Connecticut.
