Watch Jordan Davis Compete Live At 2024 Drake Relays Elite Javelin Throw Competition

DES MOINES, Iowa – Southern Connecticut State University National Champion and All-American Jordan Davis will compete in the 2024 Drake Relays Javelin competition on Thursday, Apr. 25. Davis will be competing against elite throwers at the USA Track & Field event in his quest for Olympic competition.

Owl fans can watch Davis live on Thursday night at 4:30 p.m. CST/5:30 p.m. EST by visiting Drake's livestream.

Davis, who is already a NCAA Division II National Champion and three-time All-American, announced his status as an Olympic hopeful with his performance at the Texas Relays in late March. Davis won the event with an eye-popping throw of 83.77m/264'-1", which shot past his previous best by almost a foot and moved him up the all-time rankings. Davis landed fifth in collegiate history and 10th in United States history.

His competition at the Drake Relays will include three-time national champion Curtis Thompson, who is currently ranked 11th in the world but has been ranked as high as fourth, and won the 2023 USATF Championships and Pan American Games. Michael Shuey was a two-time BIG TEN champion at Penn State and competed in the 2020 Olympics.

Davis earned the prestigious M-F Athletic Division II National Athlete of the Week, awarded by the USTFCCCA, as the first SCSU student-athlete in program history to win the weekly award. His latest honor adds to a long list of accolades. A two-time NCAA Division II All-American, and three-time qualifier, Davis captured the 2022 NCAA Division II National Championship.

Last season, he won his third-straight NE10 and New England Championships on his way to be named the NE10 Field Athlete of the Year and the USTFCCCA East Region Field Athlete of the Year. He also holds the SCSU, NE10 and NEICAAA record in the javelin.
