SCSU Baseball Falls To AIC, 17-8

Box Score After sweeping a double header the day before the Owls dropped the third game of the series against the Yellowjackets, 17-8. This brings the Owls record to 23-20 with a conference record of 10-11.
 
Keegan Daigle would start on the bump for the Owls with appearances from Owen Sotero, John Bucci, and Brandon La Mazza.
 
Offensively the Owls would jump out ahead first scoring the first two runs of the game. A Jack Drewry sacrifice fly would score Chad Fedeli for  the first run followed by a Mike Talavera double that would score Billy Sullivan for the second run. The Owls however would let up eight runs through the first four. Mike Talavera would score Jack Drewry on a fielder's choice only cutting the Yellowjacket lead to 8-3 in the top of the fifth.
 
AIC would go on to score five more unanswered runs until a Patrick Dillion RBI single, scoring Devin Pelletier in the top of the sixth would bring the score to 13-4. From there the Owls would gain momentum with Billy Sullivan reaching on an error scoring Jake Gruttadauria and Patrick Dillion for two runs. A sacrifice fly from Mike Talavera would then bring home Fedeli for the fourth run of the inning. Izaiah Walker would bring in the Owls final run of the game with an RBI single scoring Sullivan, bringing the score to 13-8 in the top of the sixth.
 
AIC however would keep their bats rolling and would add an additional four runs in the bottom of the sixth off of a three run homer and an RBI single, bringing the final score of the game to 17-8.
 
The Owls will take on the University of Bridgeport for their next matchup at Dunkin Donuts Park in Hartford, CT , home of the Hartford Yard goats on Tuesday, April 30th at 11:00 AM.
