Men's Track & Field

Follow Jordan Davis At U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials On June 21-23

Two-time NCAA Division II Javelin Throw National Champion Jordan Davis will compete at the 2024 United States Olympic Trials held in Eugene, Ore. on June 21-30. Owls fans can follow Davis as he vies for Olympic competition as all finals will be broadcast on NBC, all events available to stream on Peacock, NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app.

The first round of the javelin throw competition will take place on Friday at 6:30 p.m. (ET) and can be seen on Peacock. Should Davis advance, the finals would be held on Sunday, June 23 at 9:40 p.m. on NBC/Peacock.

To be eligible to compete in the Olympics, athletes must achieve the Olympic standard set by World Athletics, which is 75.00 meters for the javelin throw. The event will be comprised of 24 athletes over two rounds. At this year's NCAA Outdoor Championship, Davis launched a throw of 84.45m (277'1"), which stands as the top throw by an American athlete in collegiate history and the fourth-best overall performance all-time.

Earlier this season, Davis broke the NCAA all-division record with a throw of 83.77m at the 96th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays before setting the new record at the NCAA Championships. Along the way, he won his fourth-straight NE10 and NEICAAA New England Championships and finished fourth with a throw of 75.32m (247'1") at the prestigious Drake Relays which featured some of the top javelin talent in the world.

Davis' incredible season – one in which could be argued as the greatest in SCSU Athletics history – was highlighted most recently with his announcement as a Semifinalist for the prestigious Bowerman Award, making him the first NCAA Division II student-athlete eligible in the award's history since 2009. Davis was also named USTFCCCA National Field Athlete of the Year, USTFCCCA East Region Field Athlete of the Year, Northeast-10 Conference Field Athlete of the Year while capturing his second NCAA Division II Javelin Throw National Championship in three seasons as well as a fourth-straight All-American honor.
