Southern Connecticut State University baseball will participate in the 2024 Closer To Free Ride to benefit Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center. It will be the fourth time that head coach Tim Shea and his team will volunteer at the event which takes place on Saturday, Sept. 7 at Yale Bowl in New Haven, Conn.
One hundred percent of the funds raised by riders and volunteers go directly to patient care and advanced research at Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center. In-Person Riders commit to raising either $500 or $1000 ($250 or $500 for youth/students) to ride. The Closer to Free Ride offers five scenic, professionally-supported routes with hundreds of dedicated volunteers taking care of every detail. A powerful Opening Ceremony and ride ends with an exhilarating Finish Line Festival at the Yale Bowl.
