SCSU Women's Soccer Draws Against Queens

Box Score FLUSHING, N.Y. - Southern Connecticut Women's Soccer drew against Queens 0-0 in a non-conference matchup. The Owls move to 1-4-3 on the season. 

It was a defensive battle, with only 11 shots on goal between the two teams. The platoon of Mackenzie Pastreck and Abby Aughe pitched a shutout in net, each picking up a save. The game marked the first collegiate action for Pastreck. 

Bella LaPerle, Gracie Sanders, Nicky Deslauriers, Shelby Green, Jeimy Gonzalez, and Frida Norret each recorded a shot, but were unable to convert. Head Coach Adam Cohen made full use of his bench, with 23 Owls entering at some point during the match. 

Southern's defense impressed, with Ryleigh Phillips and Nelli Miettinen making impact plays alongside Green and Sanders. 

The Owls face a quick turnaround, returning home to kick off homecoming and family weekend when they take on Chestnut Hill this Friday, October 3rd.
