SCSU Women's Indoor T&F sees 6 Top-5 Finishes at Day 1 of Boston College's Showdown at the Heights

BOSTON, Mass. - Southern Connecticut Women's Indoor Track & Field saw six Owls finish in the top 5 of their event at Day 1 of Boston College's Showdown at the Heights. Belle Smith, Kisha Francois, Mackenzie Glenn, Delaney Speed, Patrice Mansfield, and Ella Maclean all landed in the top five of their events, with Francois winning the Long Jump.

TRACK
Ella Maclean finished in third in the 60m Dash Final, running a time of 7.70. That time is the second fastest in the Northeast-10 Conference this season, with Maclean's time of 7.61 from the Art Kadish Elm City Challenge ranking first. Megan Swan finished in 14th at 8.12, and Joelle Budz landed in 19th at 8.20. 

Swan and Budz also ran the 200m Dash, with Swan finishing in 18th at 26.00. Budz landed in 27th with a time of 26.67, a new PR. 

In the 400m Dash, Cali Beebe placed 16th with a time of 1:01.20, a new personal best. Lindsay Drozd also recorded a PR, finishing in 23rd at 1:02.55. Both times rank in the top 15 of the NE10 this season. 

Patrice Mansfield finished in third in the 60m Hurdles, running 9.02 in the finals. She also ran 8.88 in the preliminary round, which ties her personal-best. She has now ran 8.88 three times this season. 

FIELD
Kisha Francois won the Long Jump, her fourth win in the event this season. She jumped 5.72m (18-09.25), which ranks third in the conference. Mackenzie Glenn followed in second, jumping 5.37m (17-07.5), also ranking in the top-10 NE10 jumps this season. Delany Speed placed fifth, jumping 5.15m (16-08.5), and Deja Fitzpatrick-Bell placed seventh at 5.05m (16-07.0)

Belle Smith led the Owls in the Shot Put, finishing in third with at throw of 13.32m (43-08.5). Kayla Johnson followed in fifth, throwing 11.51m (37-09.75), and Darla Jagrosse placed sixth, throwing 11.47m (37-07.75). 

The Owls compete again tomorrow, where they will run the 800m Dash, Mile, 3000m, 4x400 Relay, and will compete in the Triple Jump.
