SCSU Women's Indoor Track Wins 4x400 at Day 2 of Boston College's Showdown at the Heights

BOSTON, Mass. - Southern Connecticut Women's Indoor Track & Field won the 4x400 relay on Day 2 of Boston College's Showdown at the Heights. The Owls finished the two-day affair with two event wins and seven top-five finishes.

The Owls 4x400 Relay team of Avery Winters, Ella Maclean, Kisha Francois, and Hannah Caiola won the event, running a time of 3:43.65. That is the second-best time in the NE10 this season, coming just short of the 3:43.33 mark set by the same foursome last weekend. Their time today is the seventh-fastest time in all of Division II.

Julia Mansfield was the top Owl in the 800m dash, finishing in 14th with a time of 2:22.65, fifth-best in the Northeast-10 Conference this season. Leticia DoNascimento landed in 16th at 2:24.01, and Abigail Bajorek finished in 19th at 2:25.11. Donascimento's time is the sixth-best in the NE10, and Bajorek's is the eighth.

In the Mile, Erin Sola led the team with a 16th place finish, crossing at 5:21.12, a new personal-best that also ranks fifth in the NE10. Briana Grecco followed in 24th with a time of 5:36.38, a top-15 time in the conference.

In the 3000m, P.J. Dauphinais was the Owls' top finisher, placing 11th with a time of 10:45.44. Megan Whitnell finished in 13th at 10:49.07, and Emilie Noreika was right behind in 14th at 10:52.58. All three times rank in the top 10 finishes in the NE10 this season.

The Owls compete again in two meets on Saturday, February 15th, traveling back to Boston for BU's Valentine Invitational and sticking in New Haven for Yale's Geigengack Invitational.
