WBCA NCAA DII Coaches' All-America Teams
ATLANTA, Ga. - Southern Connecticut women's basketball standout
Delaney Haines earned 2025 Women's Basketball Coaches Association NCAA Division II Coaches' All-America Honorable Mention, as announced by the WBCA on Thursday, March 20, 2025. The WBCA NCAA Division II Coaches All-America team are selected by the WBCA NCAA Division II Awards Committee from coaches and student-athletes who are nominated by WBCA members. This is the first All-American recognition for Haines in her career.
Haines had an impressive season for the Owls, as she was named to the D2CCA All-East Region First Team and to the All-Northeast-10 Conference First Team. Haines has led the Northeast-10 Conference in total points with 507 points. She also led the conference in minutes played with 1,127 minutes for Southern Connecticut. This season, she moved up to fourth all-time in made three-pointers in program history with 166 career three-pointers.
She scored the most points scored by an individual in the NE10 this season with 36 points in a record-breaking 112-39 win over Bloomfield. It was the fourth most points scored by a player in SCSU Women's Basketball program history. She made a career-best of eight three-pointers, which is the second-most in the NE10 this season and made a career-best of 13 field goals in the victory. Haines was named NE10 Player of the Week for Week Four and was named to the NE10 Faces in the Crowd on Feb. 26, 2025.
