MANSFIELD, Mass. - Southern Connecticut women's basketball graduate student
Katie Williamson was named a 2024-25 Northeast-10 Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year Nominee, as announced by the NE10 on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
Eligibility requirements for nomination are that a student-athlete must be in their final year of athletic eligibility, graduating with a degree in May (unless in a master's program), must be enrolled in a full-time course load and must have a minimum final cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better. A committee made up of faculty members and athletic administrators conducts voting for the awards.
The two winners are set to be announced at the NE10 Banquet at Fratello's Events in the Millyard (Manchester, N.H.) on the night of Tuesday, June 3.
In the classroom, Williamson holds a 4.00 GPA while pursuing a graduate degree in a Master's in Sport and Entertainment Management. Additionally, she held a 3.68 GPA while completing a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Liberal Studies in 2024. She is a two-time CSC Academic All-District Team honoree and an NE10 Academic All-Conference Team honoree. On the court, she is a two-time All-NE10 Second Team honoree and was named NE10 Player of the Week on Jan. 13, 2025. Williamson was ranked in the top 10 of the Northeast-10 Conference this season in points, free-throw percentage and blocks. She became the first player in SCSU Women's Basketball history to total 1,000 points, 100 career blocks and 100 career steals.
