Bajorek, Dauphinais, and Francois Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut Women's Cross Country and Track & Field standouts Abigail Bajorek, PJ Dauphinais, and Kisha Francois were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for the 2024-2025 season. The team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field, and in the classroom.

Abigail Bajorek, a junior from Vernon, Conn., found plenty of success on and off the track this season. She was named to the Northeast 10 Academic Honor Roll for both the fall and spring semesters, earning Academic Distinction in the fall (3.50-3.99 GPA) and Academic Excellence in the spring (4.0 GPA). In the fall, she helped lead the Owls to a NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championship appearance. She was a part of the Owls' 4x800m Relay team that grabbed gold at the NE10 Indoor and Outdoor Championships, also placing second in the Distance Medley Relay, helping the Owls to the second-consecutive Indoor and Outdoor Championships. 

PJ Dauphinais. a sophomore from Seymour, Conn., was another Owl who had a great year both academically and athletically. She landed on the NE10 Academic Honor Roll for the fall and spring semesters, earning Academic Distinction both times. Alongside Bajorek, she helped the Owls to a Cross Country National Championship appearance. She won the 10000m at the 2025 NE10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships and earned bronze in the 5000m at the 2025 NE10 Indoor and Outdoor Championships. 

Kisha Francois was dominant during the 2025 season. She earned Academic Distinction twice after being named to the NE10 Honor Roll for both the fall and spring semesters. She won silver in the Long Jump and 200m Dash at the 2025 NE10 Indoor and Outdoor Championships, then brought home three golds in the Long Jump, 100m Dash, and 4x100m Relay at the Outdoor Championships, earning her the Most Valuable Female Athlete award. She also placed third in the 4x100 and 4x400 at the 2025 NEICAAA New England Championships.
