HARTFORD, CONN.— Southern Connecticut men's cross country won the University of Hartford Cross Country Invitational with a score of 57, beating out Bentley and UConn.
Seniors Nate Huebner and Jonathan Volpe ran new personal bests with Huebner finishing in 16:13 and Volpe in 16:19 earning Huebner 5th and Volpe 6th in the race featuring 100 runners.
Along with Huebner and Volpe, Sophomore John Glidden finished 9th with a time of 16:25. Sophomore Colton Sallum was 15th at 16:39 followed by Joseph Lamburn (17:03) in 24th, Jaxson Koczur (17:07) in 26th, Frankie Porrini (17:13) in 30th and Ryan Gagne (17:38) in 40th.
Southern is back in action on Saturday Sept. 20 when they travel to the UMass Dartmouth Invitational in North Dartmouth, Mass.
