NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut women's lacrosse was ranked sixth in the East Region, in the second week week of the NCAA Division II Regional Rankings, as announced on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. It was the highest ranking that the Owls have had in the NCAA Regional Rankings in program history. Southern is one of four NE10 teams featured in the first week of teams being ranked based on overall record.
On Monday, the Owls entered the IWLCA Division II Poll Top 25, for the first time in program history, for their first time wins over Bentley and Saint Anselm. Additionally, Southern broke their program record of wins in a single season, with 12 total wins, so far. On Saturday, April 25, the Owls will host their first NE10 Championship Quarterfinal game at Jess Dow Field, against #6 Bentley, at 4:00 pm.
Nationally, the Owls are ranked 15
th in all of Division II in scoring margin with an average of 6.50 goals, ranked 14
