Lauren Zarrella (Morris, Conn.) turned away seven shots, but the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team dropped a 5-0 decision to No. 6 nationally ranked C.W. Post on Tuesday. The contest marked the eighth game against a top 10 nationally ranked opponent for the Owls this season.
SCSU is now 4-10 overall on the season. C.W. Post improved to 12-1.
The Pioneers scored three first-half goals, two from Amber Limmani, to carry a 3-0 cushion into halftime.
Single goals from Courtney Nann and Limmani in the second half rounded out the scoring.
The Owls are back in action on Thursday night at 7 p.m. when they host AIC in a Northeast-10 contest.
