WALTHAM, Mass. - Despite holding a decisive edge in shots and penalty corners, the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 9 nationally ranked Bentley College on Saturday afternoon.
The Owls are now 1-5, 0-3 in Northeast-10 action. Bentley improved to 4-1, 4-0 in league play.
The Falcons jumped out early on a goal from Megan Ramah at the 22:23 mark. They extended their lead to two goals just 2:58 later to carry a 2-0 lead into halftime.
Bentley added a penalty stroke goal just over five minutes into the second half.
For the game, the Owls held a 14-3 edge in penalty corners and a 10-8 lead in the shot department.
