Box Score
LOWELL, Mass. – Bentley's Nicole Murphy scored the only goal of the game 5:08 into play and the Falcons were able to hold off the No. 8 nationally ranked Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team on Saturday in a Northeast-10 Conference Tournament semifinal game. The Owls (13-9) will now wait for Monday's NCAA Tournament selection show to learn if they have qualified for the event for the second time in program history. The top three teams in the region earn a spot in the field, and the Owls have been in the No. 3 position for three straight weeks.
The Owls had 10 penalty corners in the contest, including two in the last two minutes, but were unable to net the equalizing tally.
Southern Connecticut's top competition for the at-large spot in the field is Stonehill. Both teams have 13 wins, but the Owls recorded a season sweep of the Skyhawks.
Owls' goalie
Lauren Zarrella (Morris, Conn.) finished with six saves in the contest.
