CONFERENCE PLAY RESUMES
Two Northeast-10 Conference games are up next for the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team this week. The Owls travel to Southern New Hampshire on Tuesday, April 1 at 4 p.m. before hitting the road for a 3 p.m. game at Franklin Pierce on Saturday. SCSU enters the game with a 1-1 record in league play.

WE'VE SEEN EACH OTHER BEFORE
SCSU and Franklin Pierce will face each other for the second time in 18 days on Saturday. The Ravens won the first game between the clubs back on March 18 in Sanford, Fla, 15-10. The Owls led early in the second half by an 8-6 tally before Franklin Pierce pulled away with the next eight goals of the game.

A NEW LEADER AT THE TOP
Senior Allison Kownacki moved past Cathy Cardini on March 25 atop the school's all-time goal list. Kownacki has netted 81 goals to date as an Owl. Including the two seasons she spent at Merrimack, Kownacki has scored 176 goals as a collegiate studenat-athlete.

MARTHA STANDS ALONE
Junior Grace Martha became the program's all-time groundball leader in the game with Franklin Pierce on March 18. She moved past Cathy Cardini, who had 72 career groundballs. Martha now has 89 career groundballs and leads the club with 32 this year.

HOME SICK YET??
The Owls are in the midst of a stretch of six of seven tilts that will take place away from Jess Dow Field. The Owls played three neutral site games in Florida and are in the midst of a three-game road trip. SCSU won its only home game in the recent stretch, a 20-8 win over AIC on March 25.

SCORING WITH REGULARITY
The 20-goal output against AIC marked the first time that the Owls had scored at least 18 goals in a game since netting 18 in a win over Assumption on April 24, 2007.

MONFREDO MAINTAINS CONSISTENCY
Sophomore Teresa Monfredo, who was second on the club in scoring a year ago, has remained a top threat for the Owls up front this year. To date, she ranks second on the club in both goals and points (11 goals, two assists).

PICKING UP WHERE SHE LEFT OFF
Senior Allison Kownacki, who scored 61 goals a year ago, has already scored 20 times in the first six games of the 2008 campaign. Kownacki netted five markers in each of the first two contests this year.

ROOKIES FINDING THE SCORESHEET
Freshmen Nicole Calcaterra, Rachel Carlucci, Amanda Dilger and Jessica Kraszewski, along with sophomore Lisa Desanti, have already registered their first career goals as Owls.

YOUTH TO BE SERVED
Sixteen of the 18 players on the Owls' roster this year are either freshmen or sophomores.

LEADING THE WAY
Senior Allison Kownacki and junior Grace Martha will serve as team captains for the Owls this spring.

FINDING THE BACK OF THE NET
Senior Allison Kownacki led all of Division II in goals per game in 2007. She tallied 61 goals in just 13 games for the Owls.

WELCOME BACK
Cathy Cardini, the all-time leading scorer in the history of the program, returns to the sidelines this season as an assistant coach. Cardini tallied 98 points (78 goals, 20 assists) in her career and led the team in scoring in her freshman and sophomore campaigns.

IN THE NORTHEAST-10 POLL
Southern Connecticut was selected eighth in this year's Northeast-10 Conference poll.
